one of my favorite things to do in limited perspective is write sentences about the things someone doesn't do. he doesn't open his eyes. he doesn't reach out. i LOVE sentences like that. if it's describing the narrator, it's a reflection of their desires, something they're holding themselves back from. there's a tension between urge and action. it makes you ask why they wanted or felt compelled to do that, and also why they ultimately didn't. and if it's describing someone else, it tells you about the narrator's expectations. how they perceive that other person or their relationship. what they thought the other person was going to do, or thought the other person should have done, but failed to. negative action sentences are everything.

The thing is nobody at pride is evaluating you to determine if you’re queer enough to be there because they’re too busy thinking “it’s so hot out” and “why is this lemonade 12 dollars?”

in the next 5 years maybe sooner we will discover that AI usage is like cigarettes literally. It’s altering peoples brains it’s making everyone stupid, less creative, less willing to accept anything but a sycophantic response to anything they say. People at work are saying “I asked Claude” as if Claude is a real person instead of listening to me, a real human being with ideas and a soul. the work AI has auth issues today and flickered off very briefly, and the entire company had a meltdown, tickets paging everyone to please get this thing back up we are completely blocked without this app that we all were perfectly fine without just a year ago. it’s like asbestos or lead, it’s dangerous and harmful and altering our brain chemistry and years from now we’ll have the proof but for now it’s just me thinking im alone because everyone else around me who uses it is either forced to and keeps quiet about their fears, or else they actually really believe it’s helping them and they’re going to defend it with everything they’ve got
