imagine what kind of disk horse would've happened if Lewis ever demanded a journalist to leave a press room 𫩠even 20 years into his carreer, last year he was called rude for giving short answers after a bad race..
exactly. there are people working in formula 1 journalism that have written both explicitly racist pieces about him and pieces littered with micro-aggressions but he doesnât get to boycott anyone. heâs had a journalist ask him to his face to apologise to the families of grenfell over a sponsorship that MERCEDES took on. still he doesnât get to tell those people to leave the room like max can
I'm anti-conspiracy theory unless it's a really fun one.
Mercedes having illegal engines? âBoring, unoriginal, repetative, demonstratably false
The Aston Martin is falling apart because the ghost of Ayrton Senna is invisibly pulling apart the machine as it's driven, just to fuck with Adrian Newey? â Interesting, different, haven't seen it before, you can't prove that's not happening.
schumacher's time at mercedes hasn't put a dent in his legacy or stopped him from being in goat conversations, in fact the way people credit schumacher for merc's success in the turbo hybrid era, despite having almost zero input, you'd think micheal drew up the plans and built the engine himself with scraps from his garage... but suddenly there's this faux concern for lewis' legacy, a legacy they never even rated to begin with.
sometimes, a lot of times tbh, i think the only way black athletes will ever get the respect they deserve is when they die... cuz sports fans think itâs blasphemous to say anything but unadulterated praise about a dead athlete⌠theyâre either worshipped like a saint or can finally be in goat conversations like every other athlete the "newer" generation didn't witness compete.
âźď¸ completely right that they never cared for or respected his legacy before. the only reason they pretend to worry about it now is because they're rubbing their hands in glee at the prospect of people doubting it.
and true. and it's so đŤŠ. like appreciate him when he's here. alive and fighting

Turkish Grand Prix 2020 đ
this is a long ass rant because i feel physically ill. no matter how much people try to spin itâ oliver bearman's comment was racist. point blank. and it disgusts me that lewis still gets treated like he did when he was a rookie. all because racism doesnt care about achievements.
it shouldnt matter where it came from, but it hits even harder knowing it came from someone he was actually kind to. and the point isnt âhe shouldnt be racist because lewis was nice to him.â the point is he shouldnt be racist because lewis is a human being. because that is the bare minimum of being a normal person. and i hate reading things like "lh fans are overreacting" or that we are triggered just because bearman likes max more than lewis. it doesnt matter that he roots for max or that he thinks max is a better driver. those facts dont matter in this conversation. because even if lewis had never touched a podium in his entire life, he would still never deserve to have someone talk about âbuyingâ him like heâs an object.
what abhors me more is people still defending bearman. he was a teenager not a toddler. people love giving teenagers free pass. at 18 you can drive. you can vote. you absolutely know what racism is. you absolutely know it is WRONG. he typed that comment fully aware of its implications. racism at 18 is still racism. racism at 8 is still racism. it doesnt magically become âokayâ because you slap the word âteenagerâ on it. and you can excuse a lot of stupid things at 18. but not racism. never racism. because racism is not a slip-up. itâs a worldview. it comes from somewhere you have been allowed to believe is normal.
im angry. im disgusted. im tired of excuses. im tired of people pretending this isnt serious. im tired of everyoneâs bullshit. some days i wish lewis wasnt so endlessly kind and composed. that he wasnt so patient. if i were to decide, the man has earned the right to shoot at least one person a month in this sport. not that he ever would. that is the cruel irony. he wouldnt even say anything mean about a colleague who made a snarky comment about him. he will always choose grace even when faced with people who would never return the courtesy, and for what? so he can keep being treated like shit?
im furious. im heartbroken. lewis deserves better than this sport, better than its fans, better than its rising stars who still cant grasp the basic concept of seeing him as a person
imagine the coworker you hate announcing their retirement out of the blue. great! but wait - they then decide to come back because their family bores them. and now theyâre back they will. not. shut. the. fuck. up. about you and they act as if everything they say comes with an in depth knowledge of your psyche and personality despite you not being their friend for years. and they hang around the paddock like a piece of toilet paper stuck to your shoe and god forbid you accidentally glance in their direction because now people will make tiktok edits about you yearning for someone you pay no mind and analyse your automatic bodily functions to the nth degree and attribute every single thing you do or say to being motivated by a man who is nothing more than a fly buzzing around your kitchen to you. this is the hell lewis is living in
all of lewisâ 13 overtakes at the abu dhabi gp 2025 đĽ
at least itâs not verstappen. thatâs the only thing i take away.

Im not even a Hamilton fan but someone should stage an intervention for him. Save that man, his legacy is getting murdered by italian incompetence [*]
The concept of the only black driver in the entire history of the sport, almost EIGHTY years, who became the most successful, who revolutionized the very sport which tried and still tries to alienate him, who has stood for and spoken about topics his colleagues wouldnât risk the comfort of their ignorance for⌠.The concept of a driver who has been on the main podium for 17 consecutive years, whose podium finishes are the equivalent of 2x robert kubicaâs entire formula 1 career... If one F1 season had 20 races, Lewis Hamilton wouldâve spent a total of 10 FULL SEASONS, consecutively in every race, on the podiumâŚThe concept of anyone thinking a couple of average seasons/races, that drivers on the grid would do anything for, would somehow destroy an illustrious career??!!
Save your faux concern for one of those mid drivers everyone loves to project a mirage of âpotentialâ onto because Lewis Hamilton has done it all⌠heâs been in the history books from day one and no human or organization can take anything away from him except him.
And please be a hater with your chest cuz this cowardly behavior of trying to disguise mockery as âconcernâ is pathetic and getting old.
And everyone in the tags and op using such condescending and infantilizing tone, go fuck yourselves frâŚ. the concept of âsitting downâ the greatest formula one driver ever to talk about ferrari incompetence like he hasnât watched the team fail since the inception of time.
ok i have some time until quali so im going to rant lol
nico rosbergs irrelevant ass talking abt lewis's legacy is hilarious as fuck considering the fact that he "puts a scratch" in his own every time he opens his mouth. 10 yrs it's been and he can't shut up about lewis while having maybe not even a quarter of his achievements. like isn't it embarrassing?? i know he's shameless but do his fans not feel any embarrassment? how do u go around stanning this guy when every time he opens his mouth he sounds like he's TRYING to become a headline? or is the mediocre white man charm so intense it blinds you to common sense? are the ship goggles so tight it's cutting off blood flow to the brain? no really, what is it?
Remember when they had to threaten max that they would dsq him if he crashed into lewis in ad because he had done it in the three races prior and a lewis dnf would mean he won? And so he didnt crash into lewis and lewis immediately dunked 15 secs on him and they had to find another way to get max the trophy? Yeah..
re: the current environment in sports fandom - i don't think it's just a post-dts thing. i feel it's not just sports, in general everyone has become very reactionary and radicalized and you see that expressed in twt arguments over politics or sports or whatever it is. there's an increase in tribalism too and nobody wants to engage critically with anything or think of even a bit of nuance. and i feel like everything's become performative in a way, your favorite driver or whatever has become less about who appeals to you and more about how it makes you look, if that makes sense? and then with the increased influence of politics and the tribalism associated with it, you get people insisting the nazi drivers aren't so bad and at the same time you've got people trying to cancel the most socially aware ones for not being on the level of your average internet leftist. the goalposts are always moving for all sides and no one is willing to engage with an opinion different from their own even if it is just to learn a different perspective. it's become exhausting and echochamber is the right word, but "toxic circlejerk" fits too. it's making sports communities fucking unbearable to be in.
btw this doesn't just apply to fans of the driver you don't like. i've seen this kind of behavior from lewis fans, oscar fans, charles, lando, whoever, you name it. because at a certain point it stops being about coming together to support your guy, and becomes more about exclusionary behavior and bullying in the name of "fandom." we can joke all we want about sports fandoms being toxic wastelands but it's not actually something to aspire to.
one thing i never understood is how people are treating lewis after everything thats happened. it took michael shumacher FOUR YEARS to turn ferrari into a championship winning team. this is lewis' first year. have grace and have faith. lewis has done it before and he will do it again.

members of the redbull team directly or indirectly inciting abuse towards other drivers is not even fork found in kitchen itâs fork found in the fork store where they only sell forks
and letâs not try and simplify this with âmarko is a senile old man who needs to retireâ because we all remember what horner and jos did in 2021
redbull and their fans need to leave this sport im so serious. its always them harassing other drivers. what are you doing bullying a 19 year old rookie for making a mistake. letâs not forget the shit they did to lewis people should have known just how sick redbull as a team are. incase people donât know redbull said lewis tried to kill max and this caused the racial abuse and death threats that lewis was already getting online to sky rocket. iâm also pretty sure the lewis âdopingâ accusations came from the redbull camp. this year their fans have been editing lewis face onto george floydâs body. redbull and their fans have been cruel and always will be cruel and disgusting people.
the "edited pic" has been around since 2021, marko was the one who started the "doping" rumor and horner gave the "attempted murder" statement on live tv but the thing about all this is, the reactions. everyone chose silence when it was done to lewis and everyone agreed that he deserved it all, in fact, he deserved worse. so, what's changed? yes, kimi is a teenager and yes he didn't intentionally help lando but so what if he did? everyone affiliated with red bull was ready to sacrifice anything for max when the fight was against lewis. and they did. why can't someone do the same for lando?
my point is, it's not just red bull fans and my question is exactly what's changed now? everyone loved it when it was happening to lewis
