My hot take is that Didier is not a villain, what happened between him and Gilles happens in f1, especially when teammates are competing for the championship. Gilles was quick to anger and never heard Didier's side of the story and so he decided to push the car beyond its limits which he should know. But again it's not that Gilles is entirely at fault, they would've made up had he lived past that race. But Didier isn't 100% at fault either when you consider James Hunt, commentator and f1 champion who has experience in the sport, said team orders weren't clear enough. Both are at fault here. Also Didier wasn't even allowed to attend Gilles's funeral, despite them having been close friends. Also considering Didier's girlfriend considered the two close enough to name their twin sons Gilles and Didier

"Which one of you is Rene Arnoux?" asked the man in uniform. "You?" "Oh no, I'm Jacques Laffite," replied Jacques in a silly voice. Jacques wasn't so happy a moment later when Prost said "go on Rene, don't be stupid, they've got you."

Two days ago was 10 years since Nico Prost won the London ePrix and Bruno Senna came second and I watched the whole things through my fingers because if anybody could mess up a very simple run to the flag it was Bruno (I love him).

Yesterday was the 10 year anniversary of the funniest goddamn thing to ever happen in Formula E and the reason we should award fastest lap points to whoever sets the fastest lap, whether or not they finish the race.

my wokest take atm is that we need to stop a lot of motorsport tumblr that has the take of “gotta hand it to [insert abusive coach/father/team] their [insert abusive method] created a great driver!!” creates a breeding ground of toxic and abusive environments and people that will swiftly and gladly begin to take advantage of young racers that are at disadvantages to push them ahead. like yall are just asking for kids already at disadvantages to be abused and harassed
