it’s funny because yes, you CAN disable right click save, but it takes like an extra two seconds to get around it because of how images are displayed on websites. (technically you could also just screenshot but this gets you a real jpg)
for example, instagram has disabled right click save. here I am trying to save a picture of this girl with a pumpkin sweater, but I am thwarted by the lack of right click save!
to get around it, right click and go to “inspect” or “inspect element” (it’s called different things depending on what computer you’re using)
shimmy around the webpage code until you find the “src” bit. It will helpfully tell you when you’ve found it because the image, and only the image, will light up as if you selected it.
that source is the link to where the image is hosted on the website. click the link.
find the actual hosted image. right click on that.
check and mate.

it’s weird if fat people don’t exist in your art
i want to say that this isn’t an attempt to guilt you into learning. i don’t want you to disingenuously draw fat bodies because i made you feel bullied, or because you want some sort of online clout. i’m tired of begging other artists to do something they obviously don’t want to do, so i’m not begging. i’m stating what i think of you and your work. no matter your skill, no matter your presence: it’s weird if fat people don’t exist in your art
Walmart is recalling nearly 4,000 bottles from a line of aromatherapy spray products linked with a bacterial disease outbreak. A bottle of “Better Homes & Gardens Lavender & Chamomile Essential Oil Infused Aromatherapy Room Spray with Gemstones” tested positive for B. pseudomallei, a rare and sometimes deadly bacteria that causes melioidosis.

Customers will also receive a $20 Walmart Gift Card upon return. Consistent with CDC recommendations, consumers should immediately stop usi
Current as of October 22, 2021
When I saw the headline I thought it would be something like Staph, not fucking Burkholderia pseudomallei. B. pseudomallei is put on the “tier 1 select agent” list because it has strong potential as a bioterror weapon. Also on that list are Bacillus anthracis (anthrax) and Yersinia pestis (black plague).
I really appreciate the 20 dollar Walmart gift card in exchange for being exposed to that
the disease caused by that bacteria is melioidosis, also called Whitmore’s disease. here’s info on it from the CDC’s page on melioidosis:
“How dangerous is melioidosis?
Melioidosis can be a serious disease. Melioidosis germs are naturally resistant to many commonly used antibiotics, which makes the disease difficult to treat. There are a few antibiotics that are effective, though. Without treatment, up to 9 out of every 10 people who get it die. When people with melioidosis get treatment with the correct antibiotics, fewer than 4 out of 10 people die. Medical treatment in an intensive care facility can decrease deaths even more. Only 2 out of 10 people die when they get this level of medical treatment.
People with certain medical conditions are more likely than others to get melioidosis if they come into contact with the germs that cause it. Some of these conditions are diabetes, heavy alcohol use, chronic lung disease, chronic kidney disease, and others that affect the immune system.
People sick with melioidosis frequently need to be hospitalized for treatment. Even after they are well enough to go home, people who have had melioidosis need to take antibiotics for several months. This long period of treatment makes sure the antibiotics kill all the melioidosis germs in the person’s body and prevents the disease from coming back.
It can also be hard to diagnose melioidosis quickly. The symptoms of melioidosis are the same as more common diseases like community-acquired pneumonia, the flu, or tuberculosis. There are only a few people diagnosed with melioidosis each year in the United States. Those who get melioidosis usually come into contact with the germs that cause it when they are traveling or living in a country where it is found naturally. Because there are so few people in the United States who get melioidosis, most doctors are unfamiliar with the disease.”
additionally, from the signs and symptoms page on this disease on the CDC website:
“The time between an exposure to the bacteria that causes the disease and the emergence of symptoms is not clearly defined but may range from one day to many years; generally, symptoms appear two to four weeks after exposure.”
tldr; antibiotic resistant bacteria, hard to diagnose quickly due to symptoms similar to common diseases like the flu, doctors in the US don’t know this disease since most people who catch it got it from a different country, symptoms usually don’t start until weeks after exposure, very likely to need hospitalization to treat successfully, requires a months-long treatment process (and you know how people are about skipping antibiotics once they feel better)
i’m trying not to be alarmist here but when the CDC says that 90% of untreated patients die from this disease, this is extremely serious

Philadelphia is the first large U.S. city to enact legislation aimed at curtailing the use of pretextual stops for low-level infractions, which disproportionately have targeted Black drivers.
Philadelphia on Thursday approved groundbreaking legislation that will bar its police officers from pulling over drivers for low-level motor vehicle offenses like broken taillights, a long-standing law enforcement tool that critics said led to Black motorists being stopped at disproportionate rates.
With a 14-2 vote, City Council passed the Driving Equality Bill, which details seven offenses — including improperly displayed registration or emission stickers — as “secondary violations” that cannot be the sole reason for police to pull over a driver. Instead, officers can issue citations for those infractions that will be mailed to drivers. The legislation will take effect 120 days after Mayor Jim Kenney signs it, which he is expected to do in the coming days.
In doing so, Philadelphia became the first large U.S. city to ban the use of so-called pretextual stops for low-level infractions, a practice that police departments have not only permitted, but encouraged for years to enable officers to potentially search the cars of drivers they suspected of carrying illegal drugs or weapons. Instead, critics say, it led to motorists being unfairly stopped and searched for what’s become known as driving while Black.
The new law is likely to have a significant impact on the nature of policing in Philadelphia. About 97% of police vehicle stops are for low-level violations, according to the Defender Association. Eliminating those could lead to as many as 300,000 fewer police encounters each year, it projected.
This happened on Oct. 5 and not one major news source covered it. This is the end goal of the anti-choice movement.
An autopsy report stated Poolaw’s child died at 17 weeks gestation.
LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) - A woman has been found guilty of First-Degree Manslaughter at the Comanche County Courthouse.
The jury returned around 6:30 today with the verdict in Brittney Poolaw’s case.
The jury began deliberating around 3:45 p.m.
An autopsy report stated Poolaw’s child died at 17 weeks gestation.
The report showed it tested positive for methamphetamine, amphetamine and another drug in the liver and brain.
An OBGYN testified on the stand Tuesday as an expert for the state.
The doctor confirmed the fetus was at the gestational age of about 17 weeks and that methamphetamine use can have an effect on the pregnancy, though he said it may not be the direct cause of death for the fetus.
A nurse and medical examiner both testified to seeing congenital abnormalities on the fetus.
Poolaw was sentenced to four years in prison.
This is likely respectability politics in action. Because this woman may have miscarried due to substance use, she’s not a sympathetic enough victim of judicial overreach. Instead there’s going to be a ton of people whose initial outrage will turn into “oh well in this case…”
Gestational parents with substance use disorder need to be able to reach out for assistance without fear of incarceration or they will be less likely to reach out. Cases like these only work to increase infant and gestational parent mortality.
And for those of you who look at this and go “but she was harming her child through substance use”, do you think this is where it will stop? Once you start holding people liable for miscarrying, it won’t stop just with the people you find it “acceptable” to be used against. A gestational parent who goes against doctor recommendations for bed rest for a high risk pregnancy and miscarries, who miscarries after an at-fault car accident, who doesn’t seek pre-natal medical care, who does anything that may directly or indirectly lead to a miscarriage…
And as always, the people this law will impact will disproportionately be poor people, people of color, immigrants, people with substance use disorder, disabled people. It will be people who cannot afford medical care, who medical systems do not take seriously, who are over policed and under resourced, who already have much of their agency taken away by those who believe they know what’s best…

if u consider yourself a horror fan you like NEED to be aware and educated on the ableism thats been put at the heart of so much horror. like... is that character actually scary or do they just have a limp/scars/disfigurement that real normal people have irl and have to see depicted as horrifying and dehumanizing? if you think any of those things or things like it are scary in ANY context you need to step away from the horror genre and familiarize yourself with the fact that people can and do look like that and they do not deserve to be an object of fear
If you like Hawai'i because it's fucking beautiful and the waters are perfectly clear.
Then you should support the decolonization of Hawai'i and give it back to the indigenous peoples there because they are why it's so beautiful and the waters are perfectly clear.
And while we're at it support #Land Back because if we give authority to care for the indigenous people here on the main land, we can probably have a place that's that beautiful as well (assuming it's not too far gone yet).

With a 5 day short Notice, the District Of Columbia Goverment notified us that fun… Ruby Corado needs your support for We Are Closing The Do
Casa Ruby, the oldest LGBTQ+ center in Washington, DC had its annual $839,000 funding slashed by the DHS (Department of Human Services). Given 5 days notice that their grant would not be renewed, they provided shelter and essential services to LGBTQ+ people round the clock. 30 people lost their jobs and 50 people lost their shelter. Please donate to their GoFundMe to help them keep their remaining beds across 7 DC locations. THIS IS DIRECT VIOLENCE THAT WILL LEAD TO THE LOSS OF LGBTQ+ LIVES AND CAUSES DIRECT HARM. Homelessness in DC is an ongoing issue only being made worse by gentrification and our people are amongst the most vulnerable. Please donate.
SAVE A GIRLS SERVICE DOG
(The gif is just a placeholder until I figure out how the hecks to get the photo of makana's dog out of the gofundme, cause if you don't have photos it's not eye-catching and thats. Very counterintuitive.)
Hi, my name is Makana, and this is my service dog, Buddy. He has assisted me with my medical… Makana Boger needs your support for Help Me K
I know this is a little bit out of the ordinary for me, but this is serious. An online friend of mine, Makana, needs help paying for a lawyer to keep her service dog. She has severe mental health complications that would make it extremely difficult for her to function without Buddy, who she's had for over 5 years now. She's currently preparing for a nasty court case between her and her mother over the custody of Buddy. (See site for more details) Anything you give goes towards her lawyer. If you can donate any margin of money, whether that be 20 dollars or just mere cents, it would be greatly appreciated. If you can't donate, it's fine, that's okay, but PLEASE reblog for reach, or make your own post if you must. I don't care what you do, as long as it's something.
@postplus-protest
I hate to bother you about content that isn't inherently post+, and I sincerely apologize for doing so, but you are the only Tumblr "celebrity" that I know would see this. I already explained it in the post, but for you I'll explain again, My friend Makana has a service dog who she's going to have a custody fight over. She is underfunded and really needs help getting a decent lawyer. It would mean the world to me AND Makana if you could help signal boost, since she's literally only 800 dollars towards her goal.
As always, thank you for hearing me out and have a good day. <3
Anyone want to help out?
