for my little old self, the thing about being alive on planet earth is that there will always be a first day of spring. not necessarily the equinox and its celestial tidings, but that first warm day. the sun's out, you can smell the green of the earth and the richness of the soil and you see the very first bee of the year and you end the day with sun-touched skin and a mental catalogue of all the plants you saw on your commute home. it feels so very much like being welcomed back into the world. a reunion of you and every other living thing
