i mean, what's funny is that this is actually a philosophical / theological stance! i can NOT remember what it is called and i am generalizing in a major way, but there have been full religious movements that were basically like "jesus died for to forgive our sins. if we don't sin as much as we can, he'll have nothing to forgive and his sacrifice will have been in vain!" unfortunately, IF i'm remembering correctly, this usually ended how many charismatic leader-led movements do, which is, it turned into "so you should all fuck ME specifically and take MY weird drugs."
