Every planet rotates, but they all do it differently, and those differences shape everything from day length to weather.

Most planets spin in the same direction they orbit the Sun (called prograde rotation), likely inherited from the original spinning disk of gas and dust that formed the solar system.

Venus is the major exception, it has a retrograde (backward) rotation, meaning it rotates in the opposite direction to its orbits. It's so slow that to see the Sun rise again it takes 116 days.

Uranus is particular too. Uranus's axis is tilted about 98°, it's essentially like a spinning top tilted on one side. Because of this peculiarity, it takes 84 years before the Sun rises again in the same spot. The time here is so extreme that it's leading to decades-long day and night at its poles.

It is hypothesized that these two planets has a different rotation due to a violent cosmic impact in the past that caused a reversal in the direction of rotation or a shift in the axis.

Jupiter is the fastest spinner, completing a rotation in about 10 hours despite being the largest planet, which helps drive its extreme winds and massive storms.

but when the series begins, the house is alive. there is constant motion, constant noise, people constantly coming and going. there are servants whose names we never know, but who are always in and out of the frame, working in the kitchen and going up and down the stairs. upstairs, the family is whole and intact; the house is a home, where people live. there's the revolving door of suitors and parties and distant relations who come and go.

I always hoped I would be lucky the girl I fell in love with, would come with a fortune attached. And if she should not? Then, that would be a very stern test of my character.

I take on fish everyday. Not ones that size, you don't. Don't you worry about me and size.
