Embossing a candle with a stamp can be very tricky. You don't want to over heat the candle with your heat gun and you don't want the candle to cool before you've pressed your image. Additionally, you have to be very careful not to smudge the stamp in the soft wax.
Lay a piece of wax paper over your candle and hold it taught at the back in a fist. Evenly distribute heat from your heat gun over the candle where you want to press your image. You will know your candle is ready when you see a glossy layer seem to bleed through the wax paper. Slowly peel away the wax paper, and make sure there is no glossy section remaining on the candle. Slowly lower your stamp onto the candle, and press firmly making sure not to move.
When painting/inking, you may choose to fill the image in with a color before treating the top layer. To do this, it helps to put your candle in the fridge for a few minutes. DON'T OVER COOL! Your candle can crack in the fridge!
If you use acrylic you don't need to seal the paint in, but I would recommend Glossy Accents if you use StazOn. Let either medium dry for 24 hours for complete cure time.
Stamping herb pots. Make sure to lay the stamp on your table and roll the pot to get an even impression. It may require practice. This goes for any curved stamping surface.
Huge stamps for a huge bag!
Versacraft ink is wonderful for stamping on fabric, just ink up your stamps and press. All that's left to protect your ink against the washer is HEAT! Grab your trusty iron and crank the heat up, lay a scrap piece of cotton over your image and iron away! I make sure to seal it in with heat for a solid 30 seconds. Just make sure you don't catch anything on fire...
Trash bin stamped with my hand carved repeating stamp!
Biggest challenge you ask? Keeping the stinking stamp from sliding around on that slippery plastic surface! The trick? PATIENCE and a pretty steady hand. I was worried that getting the ink to dry on the plastic was going to be my biggest hurdle, but my heat gun did the trick quite nicely! For the little bit of smudging that did happen, I just turned it into a design choice and added a 'water color' effect with a lighter green. You be the judge, but my husband loves our new classy trash bin!

Yep. Make your own mustache. You know you want to.
Fun with tile! I'm a bit obsessed...
Stamping fabric diy gets a make-over.
The very basics of stamp carving... what would fit on an 8.5 x 11 anyway!
I find this technique particularly fun when making your own coffee cozies! Stamp whatever image you like (I have a latte and bike I carved that works great) and make your own reusable coffee cozy!

First installment of How-To’s for those as crazy about stamping as I am!
You could buy a custom portrait stamp at a number of etsy shops such as this one, OR You could get a portrait stamp by ME for far less. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to charge much more for my art, but then I wouldn't get the pleasure of working with so many wonderful people!
I'm finally working through my long list of stamp to dos! Here's the latest wedding stamp from a couple in Germany.

Ship Stamp used to make the candle in an earlier post!
