I mustn't let that buzzing spirit lie lifeless and dusty on the shelf. I must pick it up and perform and play for you. Entangle my hair with leaves and encapsulate your energy. Become a vessel for your stories, awaken your dying tongue.

i'm getting a bad grade in being at the club because i'm mostly zoning out while listening to the music and thinking thoughts
"you should have been at the club" i WAS at the club and i was having visions

A pair of pins featuring the staring eyes of Dionysos, my second Pride 2023 offering.
Dionysos, the many-natured god associated with mystery, ecstasy, madness, and contagion, has been. To worship Dionysos is to be penetrated by him – by drinking of his wine, or even through the staring eyes of his icons and idols. These are those eyes: entrancing, bewitching, possessing.
I know that I’m several years behind on the collar-pin trend, but these Bacchic eyes are worth bringing it back.
It is worth noting that the eyes of Dionysos closely resemble the eyes of Classical Gorgoneions, and the eyes painted on the prows of ships, both intended to ward off evil.
Available either as loose pins, as pins with a chain strung between them, or – on special request – as a festoon necklace to hang around your neck.

Ariadne, I think we're a little lost
"whoever that is 😒"
Statue of Priapus
Roman Imperial Period
170–240 CE
Bearded Priapus has a fillet with herringbone enrichment tied around his brow, and a cloak over his head and shoulders. He wears a high-belted sleeveless tunic over a long-sleeved tunic. He is holding them up to contain a lapful of fruits. His erect phallus also acts as a support for the fruit. High, rustic boots adorn his feet, which stand on a plinth.

after Nikolai Kalmakov
Dionysus and Elagabalus; gouache and paint marker on scrap paper. I'd like to do a big un of this. Kalmakov's original is a scrap painting as well, so I like the lineage. His depicts Dionysus and a very transy lookin Maenad so obviously, you know,
hello Lucian I was wondering if you might be up for sharing the kalmakov image you were inspired by? I have not been able to find it and I'd love to see them side by side 👯♂️
1. holy shit OP I adore this artwork
2. thegodwhocums, I'm pretty sure this was the original the artist was referencing!
silly This isn't exactly how I picture Dionysus in my head, but I haven't come up with a finished piece—not just a sketch—to get it right yet
In my mind, he actually looks more like Zagreus than Dionysus. You know, this whole thing with the bull-headed god...
