This is a collection of various witchy things, whether it be reblogs from others or bits I use in my own practice. To note, this is a sideblog and you won't see me follow back! I'm Magpie and I am a 32 years old trans guy (he/they). I have been a practicing eclectic witch for around 15 years now but I make no claims in having all the answers, however I'm happy to help people with research should they have questions they're struggling to find answers to. Pet food magic

A bit of kitchen magic for pets since many ingredients in Human food are potentially dangerous for some animals, making it unwise to mix things like herbs into their food. We can, however, project energy into the food to charge it with the desired quality.

If it's moist food, a sigil can be traced in with a knife or fork, sending energy through it into the meal.

Plants or herbs for Luck

Acorn -  Keep the first acorn you find in autumn for general luck, prosperity, and protection from negative energies. Place acorns on your windowsill during a full moon to draw money and good fortune to your home. Allspice - Burn crushed allspice to attract luck and money. Aloe - Hang in the home to attract luck and protection for those who live there. Ash - Carrying a bunch of ash seeds is believed to attract general good fortune and help lift melancholy. Bamboo - Carry a piece of bamboo for good luck. Bayberry - Slip a leaf into your wallet or under a cash register (renew monthly) for business luck. Add a few drops of bayberry oil to your mop water for ongoing wealth. Burn a bayberry candle on Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve to carry luck into the new year. Bluebell - To bring luck, folklore suggests finding a patch, asking permission, and picking only one flower. After picking the single flower, say, "Bluebell, bluebell, bring me some luck before tomorrow night," then place it in your shoe. Wearing a wreath of bluebells is believed to protect the wearer and bring good fortune.  Buckeye - Keep a single, smooth buckeye in your pocket, purse, or on your person to attract good fortune and ward off the evil eye. Buckthorn - Place a piece of dried buckthorn bark in a sachet or charm bag and carry it with you to attract general good fortune. Catnip - Grow near the home or hang over the door to attract good spirits and luck. Chamomile - Sew dried chamomile flowers into a small sachet or charm bag to carry with you for ongoing luck and protection against negative energy or danger. Clover - Carry as an amulet or use in sachets for luck, attracting money, fidelity, maintaining mental acuity, and/or protection. Corn - Hang dried corn stalks or ears above mirrors to change your luck, or leave them as offerings for nature spirits and abundance. Daffodil - Wear near the heart to bring good luck. Daisy - Weave a daisy chain to wear in your hair during Midsummer to attract luck, blessings, and happiness.  Dandelion root - Bury on northwest side of house to draw good luck. Dill - Stitch dried dill seeds into a sachet or charm bag and carry it with you to attract general good fortune or specific luck for things like interviews, proposals, or court dates. Dragon's blood - Carry or wear for good luck. Heather - Keep a sprig of heather in your pocket, purse, or sachet for general good fortune, protection from violence, and to attract positive energy.

Holly - Bringing holly branches inside during the winter solstice (Yule) is believed to invite in good spirits and fairies, which in turn bring good luck and joy. Hyacinth - Place dried hyacinth flowers in a green or gold sachet (representing growth and wealth) to carry with you for good luck throughout the day. Lilac - Finding a five-petaled lilac flower is good luck, can attract good fortune in love. Maple - Maple leaves and branches have long been used as talismans to ward off bad luck, evil spirits, witches, and dark magic. Planting a maple tree at the entrance of a home is believed to repel negative energy. Marigold - Infuse dried marigold petals in your bathwater to boost self-confidence, attract admiration, and wash away bad luck. Mistletoe -  Carry for luck in hunting. Mustard seed - Use yellow mustard seed in an amulet to bring faith followed by success, this is one of the oldest known good luck amulets. Nutmeg -  Carry as a good luck charm. Oak - Catch a falling oak leaf before it hits the ground to ensure good health for the entire coming year. Orange peel - Use in sachets & amulets to bring luck to business negotiations. Parsley - Growing parsley is believed to attract good spirits and general good fortune to the home. Wearing an amulet or carrying a sachet with dried parsley is believed to attract general good luck, fertility, and new opportunities.  Peony - Carry a piece of dried peony root in a sachet to create a shield of defense against misfortune, jinxes, and to attract luck. Poppy - Place poppy seeds in a red flannel bag to attract love and good luck. Rose hips - Place dried rose hips in a sachet (green is often used for money magic) and carry it in your pocket, bag, or wallet to attract positive opportunities, good fortune, and wealth. Rowan -  Also good for use in luck spells and mixtures. Shallot - Add an infusion of shallots to the bath for luck. Star anise - Carried to bring luck. Strawberry - Leaves are carried for luck. Thyme - Place in a jar and keep in the home or at work for good luck.

Plants and herbs for Love

Acacia - Place a sprig of acacia (or gum arabic/resin) in a sachet to attract platonic love by either carrying it on your person or hanging in your home. Burn dried acacia leaves or gum resin to attract platonic love. Aloe -  Burn on the night of a full moon to bring a new lover by the new moon. Apricot - Add leaves and flowers to love sachets or carry apricot pits to attract love. Barley - Scatter barley around your home, specifically near the entrance, to invite loving energy inside. Basil - Add fresh or dried leaves to a spiritual bath for love attraction and purification. Give a basil plant to newlyweds for love and luck.  Blessed thistle - Men who carry thistle become better lovers. Blue violet - Mix with lavender in a sachet to attract lust and love. Brazil nut - Carry in your pocket for good luck in love affairs. Caraway - Prevents lover from straying when used in love spells & potions. Cardamom -  Place whole cardamom pods or seeds into a red or pink sachet and carry on your person to draw new love or sweeten an existing relationship. Catnip - Use with rose petals in love sachets to heighten potency. Chamomile - Use in bath magick to attract love. Clove - Add cloves to charm bags or sachets to draw a specific person or general love into your life. Coriander/Cilantro - Add to love charms and spells to bring romance or use in ritual work to ease the pain of a broken love affair. Cumin - Use in love spells to promote fidelity. Daisy - Wear or carry to draw love. Dill - Use dill seeds in sachets or charms to add a spark of passion and warm romantic interest. Fig - Add dried figs to honey jars for attracting a lover, symbolizing sweetness and connection. Gardenia - Carry or wear to attract love or friendship. Ginseng - Carry to draw love, health, money, and sexual potency. Henna - Attracts love if worn close to the heart. Hibiscus - Carry in a sachet or burn as incense to attract love. Hyacinth - Use in a sachet to attract love, boosts romance, often focused on spells for self-love and gay love. Jasmine - Use in sachets and spells to draw spiritual love and attract a soul mate. Juniper - Carry berries in a sachet to attract love and increase male potency.  Laurel - Worn by brides to guarantee a long and happy marriage. Peppermint - Carry with other herbs to boost love & abundance wishes. Pistachio - Breaking a love spell or letting go of a relationship. Hold the pistachio (nut or shell) and focus on the specific intention to sever the unwanted romantic connection or undo the spell, then crush them as finely as possible and be rid of them by scattering them outside to let them go. Strawberry - Share with your lover to deepen your emotional connection. Valerian - Use in a sachet to attract love. Vervain - Use as an incense to end unrequited love. Wood betony - Carry in an amulet to draw love and strengthen the body.
