Despite her blunt and sometimes uncaring demeanor, she probably loves her son. She at least quietly encouraged his creative side, unlike his father. She still paints in the garden of their home-- plein air. She's also quite partial to the rain.

She also, surprisingly, holds an Unconventionally stable marriage with Wilfred. They. Make it work. Don't ask how.

She's not really a socialite, preferring the company of her own family, since everyone else is "too stupid."

She's also the only one to write her son when he moves across the ocean to America.
