but it's an entirely new level of tragic when somebody you've actually spoken to gets turned into a bot account. it's like peeking at a zombie apocalypse through the window and realizing one of the shambling corpses was your friend.

and then the zombie catches sight of you, lurches up to your window, and shouts through the glass that they accidentally reported your account to tumblr and you'll be deactivated unless you click this link.

if you get something like this ↑ they're gonna follow up by instructing you to contact tumblr support on discord and give you contact info; or they're gonna link a website that looks sort of like tumblr support and say you have to email them; or any variety of "you must now contact tumblr, here is how you contact tumblr."

whatever they send you, it Does Not lead to tumblr. it leads to the master zombie that bit them and inducted them into the ranks of the undead, and will bite you the second they have your email and password. i might be confusing zombies and vampires. anyway,

it's easier to fall for these messages because the blog doesn't LOOK like a bot blog, because it ISN'T a bot blog. it's a normal person's blog that got accessed by a bot, meaning the blog's content CLEARLY looks like a real active user when you click on it. and yes—it might even be a blog you already know. sometimes bots like this go down a blog's DMs or reblogs and message people they've previously interacted with.

They NEED to believe Israel is an intensely homophobic place, not just because it fits with their need to believe Israel is a Jewish Supremacist state where non Jews are second class citizens, but also because it fits in with their need to believe a "free Palestine" ("freed" by hamas) will be an idyllic utopia of equality and freedom of religion

The fact that Israel is the only LGBTQA+ friendly/safe nation in the middle east and the intense murderous homophobia of the islamist groups that the free pallies allied themselves breaks the pro pallies brains

They believe themselves morally purely good, and good morally pure people support LGBTQA+ people/rights, they hate Israel and believe it's evil, but Israel is pro LGBTQA+ and the anti Israel folks are hyper anti LGBTQA+

There's some people in the comments saying "fandoms have always been like this" and others saying "No, it's worse than it was." And both are to some extent right. Fans (or at least a small percentage of fans, and the larger a fanbase gets the larger a group this will describe) have always been Like That; but they did not always have the level of access to creators and actors that they have now.

The notion that a performer needs to be constantly available to public scrutiny, that their personal information should by default be available to any rando with google, is pretty new. It used to be that actors would only be expected to engage with the public on limited, specific, and controlled occasions, usually with security provided. Now they're being asked to rawdog exposure to the mob 24/7 on their own.

(Also, production companies have always always always been exploitative cowards, just to get that straight; reading the biographies of literally any actress from golden Hollywood years makes that clear. It's just, again, more public now.)

Hello! Im in an emergency situation where im still waiting on my unemployment benefits to arrive. I have 1 day to raise the remaining $150 due on the phone bill before myself and 2 other low income individuals lose phone service and need to pay more to reinstate it.
