Haunted by the possibility of Malevolent being a cyclical story.
Ever since hearing about the Dark World having no fixed point in time in the first episode, the moments where John has distant memories of things he absolutely hasn't encountered yet (like "You Call It Madness" or a line of poetry he quotes to Arthur), I have the sinking feeling that he's re-experiencing something.
And then my brain won't shut up about the possibility that maybe Malevolent is a story about self-love and Arthur /is/ John /is/ the King in Yellow.
Something something doomed by the narrative something something.
