Goddamn I cannot describe how much I hate birthday cake, not only does it taste horrible but I can feel my blood sugar rising just by looking at it
PSA: tumblr user littlefuckinmonster is stealing human bones from cemeteries in Louisiana. Please don’t let them get away with this and spread the word/signal boost!
this post is officially a decade old now
For anyone who wasnt around when this happened, this was real. Littlefuckinmonster was actually stealing bones from cemeteries. She is the bone stealing witch. She was specifically stealing bones from poor people. She was arrested for it.
This is not a Goncharov, this literally happened, here’s the Wikipedia article about it.

okay i have to ask, is there some rhyme or reason to when you use this account or your other one? initially i thought it was kind of random with one being more personal or one of them being less involved in particular tumblr circles, but i really can't tell and it intrigues me that you seem to just use two accounts for the hell of it
it's really late right now so i'm tired and can't manage my tone that well but i'm not criticising it or implying it's negative
Nope! Which I use is completely driven by vibes and nothing else with no rhyme or reason for it. Of course, the two blogs do have one difference and its just that I follow Christian and Buddhist blogs on this account and Muslim and Buddhist blogs on that account, but that has next to nothing to do with which I use
Hey guys, I hope you find this post in good spirits and good health.
I have a serious and probably completely stupid question! I've been interested in Buddhism for some time now (Well... for a long time).I read books on Theravada Buddhism first, but I digress! For those who know Buddhism inside and out, Is it possible to follow and believe two branches of Buddhism? Because I'm interested in Theravada Buddhism and also Mahayana Buddhism, if someone could answer me in detail, that would be fantastic! Thank you in advance.
Have a good day/ afternoon/ evening !
Hello! So I saw a mutual of mine rb this, and I thought I'd offer my 2 cents as well, even though I basically agree with them. For one I think it kinda depends what perspective you're looking from, what I mean by that is that its a lot easier to justify incorporating aspects of Theravada Buddhism into your practice as a Mahayana Buddhist then it is to do the inverse, primarily because Mahayana views itself as sort of superseding Theravada, (this isn't really how Mahayana views itself but I'll say that for simplicity sake) so most Theravada Buddhist practices and beliefs are viewed as positive and valid but probably provisional, Theravada Buddhism on the other hand doesn't have this view of Mahayana and generally sees Mahayana Buddhism as having outright deviant developments as opposed to just "lesser" teachings. But another thing to consider is that these two branches are very broad and diverse, so some streams of Mahayana may share many similarities with Theravada, and vice versa. A question to consider is what is drawing you to both branches? Because there's a somewhat good chance that what you're looking for (as in the seeming "mix" of certain Theravada and Mahayana practices and beliefs) may already exist within one of the two branches, worst-case scenario, it may be a historical stream of thought you'd need to reconstruct, but still, it's a possibility. Also, while I can't provide any personal insight on it, I know several people who identify as completely non sectarian Buddhists and have opinions that fall both within and in between the two branches of Buddhism, this isn't the exact same as following both Mahayana and Theravada since its more about following neither, but I do know it to be a thing, usually backed in some form of reconstructionism which can manifest very differently on a case by case basis, but nonetheless I thought I should mention it in case it interested you (: I just wanna end this off by saying I am sorry that my answer was likely nowhere near as well written and detailed as the other one you received. I frankly suck at writing, but regardless, I hope this gave you at least a little insight :D
Just thought the guys in #forcemasc would appreciate this
This piqued my interest so I went on the forcemasc tag and saw incest wtf
Oh? 😭
You ever notice that poverty is considered evidence of failure in socialist economies but considered no big deal in capitalist economies?
It's because poverty is an inherent feature of capitalism. Poverty means capitalism is working as intended. Capitalism couldn't function without poverty.

We're three years into this genocide, grow a spine and stop being afraid of what a bunch of liberal jumblr pieces of shits gotta say already and focus on the Palestinians.
A mass funeral procession for 112 Palestinian women and children who were found under the rubble in Ghazza. Fuck Jewish feelings and fuck you for diverting the conversation away from the genocide.
“Atheism is Western and colonialist” is just as stupid and lobotomized of a take as “LGBT is Western and colonialist” and it operates on essentially the same premises and same logic which is why it’s the same people making those arguments together except for the strange phenomenon of ‘progressive’ anti-atheists that think POC are faefolk or something
It's extra ironic to say that atheism is Western when most Buddhists are atheists.
Not to mention that there are Indigenous cultures in Brazil that are atheist. People have been trying to evangelize to them for over 200 years, and they're all like "Ha ha, no."
I think that Buddhism being considered an atheistic religion is itself a western invention though.
You can also acknowledge that there are multiple traditions of atheism around the world and that the current day view of it as some kind of rational, secular neutral default position is the result of western cultural dominance.
Similar to how you can recognize that there have been non-western Christian traditions since the fall of the Roman Empire and that the ubiquity of Christianity as a religion was fueled by Western cultural dominance and colonialism.
TBH the view of Buddhism as atheistic is probably fueled by the need for Western intellectuals to see Buddhism as rationalistic compared to the dogmatism of Christianity, and who would probably have seen the Buddhism practiced by Buddhists as irrational and superstitious.
There is a bizarre tendency among modern youth to look at the MENA region and basically think, "Oh, that's Muslimland. That's where Muslims came from and always have been. Of course there aren't Christians or Jews there, why would they be living in Muslimland?" I dearly wish that people who support Palestine or the Iranian Mullahs would pick up an actual history book at least once in their goddamn lives.
They also seem to think Christianity is from Northern Europe and Buddhism is from China.
This is bigoted nonsense.
Just look at the dates. Aleppo was 40% Christian in the 1950s, after well over a millennium of Muslim rule over Syria. That should clearly show that this genocidal behaviour towards Christians is not an inherent trait of Islam, at least not at anything close to this scale.
And on the topic of Palestine, it's not like Israel likes Christians either.

it’s kind of crazy that “he has a sadness in his eyes you only see in Eastern European gay porn” took off, because the joke is, like, exclusively about people being sexually exploited due to miserable economic conditions.
Unfortunately to the majority of this site Eastern Europe is not actually a real place full of actual human beings, instead a vague concept where everything's grey and miserable and (to the slightly less ignorant) full of violent ethnic tensions, and if you try to explain why that's the popular Western conception of the place and why things got so miserable from the late 80s onward they'll just call you a tankie
When I was in first grade, I befriended a girl who was Russian at school and she told me that she loved Putin because he was a good person unlike Trump and then told me that he likes to give kids candy (? I mean, I'm sure he has given kids candy but as far as I know it's not like he's known for doing this 😭) so I went home after that and told my parents about how much I loved Putin. I wouldn't stop talking about Putin. They were horrified. I was so based for that
