if I am being 100% honest I do not totally understand the distinction between romantic and platonic love in a friendship and I do not understand one form of attraction as all that different from others. I can comprehend logically that these distinctions are important to other people. but in the same way that I don't totally understand gender, I don't totally understand the distinctions people draw around love either
Still trying to phrase this in a way that makes sense because it's frequently relevant to me when I'm reading fiction and I come across this viewpoint that is sort of alien to me, in which every relationship has a distinct box and every feeling gets categorized neatly. I can't categorize my own emotions that neatly. It's not that I'd kiss every one of my friends or conversely that I never fall in love at all. It's that the boundaries between everything are significantly more permeable to me, and it makes more sense to talk about what I would and wouldn't like to do with another person, on a case-by-case basis. I think that ambiguity of feeling is basically fine and normal and fun to explore. in fiction especially, where you get to enjoy character dynamics that might cause you significant angst in real life. Basically everyone get more ambiguous NOW
