Something so funny about rereading one's own unfinished fics. Like wow this is pretty good! Almost as if it was written exactly according to what I personally like in fact! Someone should finish it!

the issue with writing for yourself is that you will get sucked into rereading your own fic over and over and pretend it’s “editing,” but really you’re just reading because it’s exactly what you want to read. because you wrote it. for you.

writing is 10% storytelling and 90% rearranging three sentences for an hour like you're trying to solve an ancient curse

the hardest thing about writing a fic is not always the writing itself but the crippling fear of looking like a self-important dickhead when you post little teaser excerpts or talk about your work unprompted 😭😭😭

if I say “I’m gonna update my fic and post the new chapter soon,” please know that “soon” could either mean today or 2035
