“A kiss may be grand, but it won’t pay the rental, on your humble flat, or help you at the automat.”
Like literally the most famous song about how much girls love jewellry is just explaining the importance of getting jewellry for when your partner leaves you penniless and alone.
The founder of Girl Scouting in the US, Juliette Gordon Low, funded her first troop by selling her pearl necklace, which was her only belonging after her husband died and left everything to his mistress.
She founded Girl Scouts to teach girls self-sufficiency so they wouldn’t have to go through what she went through when her husband died and she didn’t know how to take care of herself.
While we’re on the subject, let’s please also remember that historically disenfranchised communities who had to worry about frequently being run out of town often bought expensive jewelry with their limited funds not because they were greedy or tacky or classless, but rather because you can’t sew a real estate investment into the lining of your coat, and the powers that be can’t freeze a diamond necklace the way that they can freeze a bank account.

My favorite thing about fanfic authors is they can identify any gap in a canon timeline where characters are offscreen and exploit the ever living fuck out of it
I don't think people who come from wattpad after the purge and now want ao3 to have its own official app understand that one of the main reasons behind the recent wattpad purge that drove them to ao3 was due to pressure from appstore demanding wattpad to be more strict and follow appstore's policy. wattpad complied in order for its app to be able to remain on appstore. thus the wattpad purge.
ao3 doesn't have an app because for it to have an app, appstore will have to approve it first. and if, hypothetically, ao3 needs appstore to approve it, it will also have to abide by appstore's pro-censorship stance and start banning dark and taboo fics, which is against its own core principle of being completely against censorship.
ao3 doesn't need an app. it works more than fine without an app. the reason ao3 can allow dark and taboo fics, the reason it can allow the most disgusting and shockingly vile fics, and be completely against censorship is because it doesn't need appstore's approval. it stands on its own as a non-profit organization with functioning site and a team of lawyers protecting its platform, its users, and every single fanwork on its platform.
everybody say thank you ao3
here's the list of things you need to know about ao3 if you're new to the platform

It's lovely to be graced with a submissive yandere and there's a dominant one too for those who don't like the submissive one. I remember seeing images of this game when it was still in development and the devloper being worried it wouldn't be well recieved, but I'm glad it's got a good amount of attention. I actually really like the designs for both yandere characters and although it's simply a r18 demo, it does have a good story.
The story starts out with the MC worrying about their childhood friend going missing, especially since Amber warned them that something might happen. The MC gets a call from Detective Harrison about Amber, but there are no leads, thus closing the case. One of their roommates, Liana gives the MC a mailed document from Amber's office- a resignation letter. Liana is suspicious about the investigation, especially given that the rejection letter was dated yesterday despite Amber being missing for four days. The second letter seems to summon the MC specifically, and despite knowing that its a trap, the MC decides to go anyways.
Upon arriving, the MC is greeted by the team lead, Maya and brings them to Amber's desk and the MC starts to look around. On the desk, we see that monsters that Amber was handling and what they would do. Basically they have to interact with the monster (kind of stuck there until they're done) and ask questions. The first monster is Jack whose document states that the goal is to teach it human emotion and study his emotions without giving permission/consent, further explaining that Jack is good at manipulating people and will classify them as prey if they are not careful. The second is Finn whose document states similar, to teach it human emotions and studying it, without being too respectful or caring, further explaining that he is manipulative and that insults and contempt should be used.
After finishing, the MC will be able to choose either Finn or Jack to go to first. Their dialogue will slightly change based on which one you go to first. We will start with Finn.
After going into Finn's room, we see that he's drinking chamomile tea and invites the MC to sit with him, giving tea to them as well. Finn clarifies that the facility treats them quite nicely before drinking some of the tea. The MC asks Finn if he knew someone named Amber and he seems quite dodgy, though he states he doesn't remember anyone by that name. The MC has to read through the consent form and he asks what they would do if he did try to break free. Basically as the questions go on, Finn will try to tease and goad the MC into controlling him and will grow disappointed if they don't. When the MC is finished reading, they feel confused about the sheet and are about to leave, only to have Finn stop them. Finn states that he was lying about not knowing Amber and if they continue the interview, he will give them information about her. Otherwise, the MC can refuse and leave, though Finn is not very happy about it. Finn tells the MC that Amber left them a message but they'd have to search his body to find it. The MC searches Finn's entire body while Finn is completely elated by this, though ultimately cannot find anything. Finn reveals that it was in his wrist buckles the entire time, though when the MC finally gets the paper for it, the lights turn off, letting Finn hug them from behind. Finn tells the MC that he really likes them and that he only wants them. After getting put back into the hallway, the MC looks at the message only for it to say that Finn was bluffing about knowing Amber. Pissed off, the MC tries to go back in, but the door locks them out and they can decide how they feel about him.
When going to Jack's room, Jack politely introduces himself and even allows the MC to take his hand towards the interview table. The MC asks Jack if he's seen or heard of Amber and just like Finn, Jack seems a bit dodgy, stating that he doesn't remember anyone by that name. While the MC prepares for the interview, Jack playfully takes the MC's employee card teasing them to pay attention to him. When the MC asks for the card back, Jack replies that he will give it back after the interview is conducted. As the interview is conducted, Jack playfully teases the MC to get reactions out of them. When answering some of the questions on the sheet, Jack will respond differently depending on choice, mostly toying with the MC when he believes they've given the "wrong" answer and teasing them otherwise. Eventually, the MC gets fed up with Jack toying with them and tries to get the card back to them, though because the MC broke the rules and Jack didn't, he'd issue a punishment towards them. Jack instead takes the interview papers and starts reading them, even stopping the MC when they try to take back the card. Jack asks a couple of questions to both tease and gauge the MC's reactions before turning off the lights. While the MC fumbles in the dark, Jack pins them against the wall, getting excited watching the MC grow scared. Jack tells the MC that he really likes them and that he doesn't want anyone to have them except for him. When the lights go back on, the MC has taken the employee card back before kicking the MC out into the hallway. The MC can then decide how they feel about him.
It's very nice to have a game that has both a submissive and dominant yandere because usually its either or (and usually its a dominant yandere), so I am properly pleased. I was also worried that one love interest would have more content than the other (sometimes this happens, especially if the creator has a preference for one over the other) but it is nice that they seem to be balanced. Ironically I quite like Jack's design more than Finn's (because I would look great in it), but I think both designs match with what they are going for with Jack being a bit more militant in design, sort of evoking power/authority while Finn is dressed more like a nun, sort of tempting you to corrupt him. The plot of trying to figure out what happened to Amber is a nice mystery element to add and it makes me wonder if one of these guys did something to her (or at least a monster that she met with did). Interestingly neither of them know about Amber, so I'm wondering if they are either lying or if Amber really did just get kidnapped by another monster. One nice detail is that the character that we see in the CGs change depending on which pronoun you use, which wasn't really necessary to add but is a nice touch. Still one of the things I find kinda peeved with in this game is that the MC is pretty much naive to why Jack and Finn might be excited by their actions, especially with someone like Finn where you have to go out of your way to tell him that you'd tie him down or force him to do stuff. Perhaps that's more of the self-insert part of it since its shown that you can decide if you like a specific yandere or thing that they do, but I feel like it would be better if they weren't so naive about it. Perhaps I'm just annoyed by MCs in vns having no clue or understanding about sex or its implications since it is a trait that was carried through from otome games. It is a small complaint however, and more of a preference for my main characters.
Currently in the game we only really lightly degrade/assert dominance and touch him in various places, though it is clear that Finn is a masochist. While it is clear that currently in the demo they are starting light, with both Finn and Jack having pretty tame routes in terms of bdsm, it is likely that it will go down to more harder core things, probably beating Finn or Jack beating the MC. It does make me curious if there is any different types of dom/sub play since there are two options each for the MC enjoying the yandere to one degree or another. Of course, there does also imply to be a bad ending if the MC succumbs too much into either side, or ignores one side in favor of the other, so the MC has to play a balancing game with them. It also makes me wonder what the two's relationship is because they are aware of each other (to the point of being able to recognize each other's smell on the MC) and why they are seperated.
I guess I'll start with Finn because I have more to say about him than I do with Jack ( for obvious reasons). I was kind of surprised that Finn was sort of the one who is goading the MC into getting them to say things that he likes. I'm not even sure why this was surprising for me since the two are supposed to be characters that draw you in, but I did find it fun when he basically made a scenario so that the MC could touch his body (though I don't know how groping his chest is gonna help you find a piece of paper but who knows I guess). On the flip side it is actually really funny to me when you don't fall for his tricks since the MC is oblivious to why he seems disappointed. Finn is also just thirsty as hell (compared to Jack) which I can appreciate. I am curious how they are going to make Finn dangerous since it's pretty clear he wants the MC to be his master. I do like seeing submissive yanderes because there are many unique ways to get it to work, especially since most people inherently don't think that submissive yanderes can be dangerous (incorrect). Considering Finn's entire interaction was driving me up the wall, I think the creator is doing a good job catering to those who like submissive/masochistic yanderes.
Jack section is probably not going to be much since while I can see why people would like him, but I personally don't really feel much for him. I was kind of surprised that he was so gentlemanly like probably because I thought with the more military outfit he'd be a lot more strict, but it turns out I was incorrect. Honestly the entire time, it just made me think he was a brat because he kept on messing with the MC's stuff (to tease them) and then got them to agree to following a punishment afterwards. He's more of a standard yandere that you'd see, though his more teasing attitude is kind of fun, albeit not extremely domineering. Probably as the route goes through the MC will succumb more to what Jack wants and he might become more dangerous.
Overall, I think the demo is pretty good. I do think that the creator should work on having a more unique UI and probably have the title screen change to both Finn and Jack instead of just Jack (like it can show which route you're most likely on) since I feel like both parties should be equally shown. I hope to see more in the future from them.
