okay so we had an sss agent previously judge that loid wasn't lying when he said he loved yor and jury's still out on that (I personally believe there's some truth in it but twilight's too deep in denial to think he's doing anything but lying). the sss have been fooled by twilight numerous times (as this whole arc demonstrates) so I tend to lean towards it being yet another instance of that. but this panel? where it's yuri making the call on whether loid's telling about protecting yor? this seems pretty safe to trust. twilight will protect yor. his actions are showing themselves for what's underneath much better than any words could.
on a related note, it's neat to see that yuri's graduated from his feral cat era to tsundere cat era when it comes to loid. his behaviour isn't quite filtering through yet, but between the chapter a while back where he realised he wasn't able to show yor his full self, last arc where he has finally recognised loid's "worthy" of yor, and then this arc where he had the thought he needs to actively step back and respect that yor's a grown woman in charge of her own decisions? he's making a lot of progress.
of course, I still have mole arc in the back of my head. at some point yuri's suspicion of twilight is going to rear its head again, but it's going to be more complicated than him just mindlessly going after his sister's husband because he dislikes him, because he's starting to believe that loid does have yor's best interests at heart, and as that was yuri's primary motive for even joining the sss, it puts him in quite the tricky situation.
