i was thinking ab these 2 a few nights ago, and was like, what if i redesign them bit? and made them more nun like? so here they are! i simplified their outfits quite a bit, bc if i wanna draw them, i'm not doing all that yk
over all, i tried to keep them similar to their og designs, enough that u can look at them and be like "thats Barbara", but with some obvious changes.
for rosaria, i pulled a lot from historical nuns, and this one image on the bottom for her belt. she wears one long dress, and some pants underneath her dress that tuck into her boots. she still has her little tiara, which is connected to her headband. the long silver thing is her rosarie, while typically gold, she wanted something more in line with her style. she has tall heels, sturdy enough to walk around in mud and dirt, and stilly really cool looking. her veil is similar to her og one, just instead of having actual cuts in it, it has black stitching. also, all the white parts of her outfits with the spikes have the design of the ends of glove.
and with Barbara (ignore the way i misspell her name the entire rest of this omg), shes keeps her little hat and her book purse thing, but now she has a full cornage outfits, as is typical of nuns, with some modifications. she has a long, blue dress, which she'll then put another, shorter white dress on top of. only the top one is that flowy, she when she does her spins, the white one will pop out while the bottom on stays long and keeps her legs covered. shes also wearing a veil. shes wearing the head band part, but no the part that wraps around her face. she also, instead o having her pig tails, has dandelions flowers pinned to the sides of her veil. sometimes she'll also pin cecilias, but i wanted something that would pop a but better here. and the little gold thing wrapped around her bag strap is a rosaries, just gold instead of silver like rosearias. you can also see a few baby hairs sticking out, which barbra likes pulling down bc she thinks its very cute. she always has her hair up and in a veil unless its a fesitval (or at home), in which she'll put the up in her pig tails and decorate them. she aslo has a little bow on the top of her collar. and the white ruffles underneath her sleeves come from her blue dress.
bc the mondstand church is based of Catholicism (im pretty sure at least) i thought itd be a good idea to give most of the mondstad character a rosarie, especially those involved with the church. im not too sure how rosaries work in real life, as despite being raised catholic, it wasn't ever something i was taught (despite my grandma having a bunch of rosaries). also their prayers are different. instead of the three spirits, ti to barbaotes and the 4 winds. im working on what each prayer would be for each bead, and ill post that later.
also, for festivals. most people with long hair would hair their hair up at least in braids, as it helps keep the dirt out of it. however for festivals, people usually let their hair down and, ecsecpilly if its a barbatoes festival, will put it in twin tails and put teal ribbons in it. this is also a style a lot of children wear as a day to day.
