Okay figured out Reckoning Firestar’s design… it will probably change more but whatever.

The little thing about the Reckoning AU is that I can and will do whatever I want, including caaasually pointing canon in a direction I like better. ShadowClan, increasing frustrated from the suffering under Brokenstar, Nightstar, then Tigerstar, only accepts Blackstar as leader out of necessity.

Blackstar, after showing overwhelming support for both Brokenstar and Tigerstar… well. ShadowClan is going to want someone who’s alive to blame. Firestar’s strong push to trial and punish Tigerstar’s allies immediately after the BloodClan battle, and the ensuing coup on Leopardstar, I think that and the internal frustration within ShadowClan would lead to either ShadowClan removing Blackstar from power on their own, or Blackstar leaving the clans himself. I’m leaning towards ShadowClan taking him out and Blackstar willingly giving up his lives after hearing about what happened to Leopardstar.

Firestar and Mistyfoot had lead the coup against Leopardstar first before Blackstar, because despite Blackstar being Tigerstar’s second in command, Leopardstar has initiative and ambition, she’s frequently taken the opportunity to attack other clans. They are significantly more wary of her.

I want Fireheart to be uncomfortable when his clanmates say cruel things about cats from a different clan or kittypets and rogues, just because they were born in a different place. I want him to think about how easily the clans were going to accept WindClan being driven out because it benefited them. I want Firestar to see the Clans battles as… increasingly pointless. If Greystripe and Silverstream could just travel between the clans, neither would have to sacrifice their home for their kids. If the Clans weren’t sworn enemies (and why? What makes them so different? They’re all cats, they all live and love just the same), maybe Silverstream could have lived. Maybe Bluestar could’ve been able to raise her kids.

Firestar had fed RiverClan, saved WindClan, helped to overthrow Brokenstar. And again and again the Clans just keep fighting. What for, when they could be helping each other? Is it really wrong, just because they’re different Clans?

And was he wrong, for feeding Yellowfang when she was just a starving woman? For defying the will of his leader over and over again? For becoming a warrior in the first place?

If the codes punish kindness, maybe the codes are wrong.

Reckoning AU.

Firestar and Sandstorm’s relationship is a little more… complicated. Firestar doesn’t want her getting hurt for his choices, but she still wants to stay by his side. She will come to suffer for this.

Cinderpelt and Firestar have a strained friendship and bond. Cinderpelt understands where he’s coming from, she really does. She cannot agree with him. Firestar doesn’t blame her, for being unhappy with him. He could never.

Fireheart hesitantly lets go of his initial morals and integrity, which the clans and the codes have repeatedly punished and judged (feeding other clans, helping kits regardless of their origin). He will still do things he believes is right, but his ideas of right and wrong are very VERY slowly and gradually warped by the feuding between clans. It’s demoralizing for him, doubting himself so much.

However, as he watches the clans become so destructive, to themselves and others, he doubts the codes. He doubts StarClan. Watching his friend’s children almost being murdered, he has to wonder how StarClan could’ve ever allowed this? But his dreams reassure him, and worry him at once. StarClan cats come to him, tell him they do not want this, but they cannot stop it.

And so, he must. It’s the prophecy, after all.

Firestar leads the defense against TigerClan. And then BloodClan. And he is changed. He can never, ever allow violence like this to happen again. The clans fell into war with themselves so easily, and he could maybe believe if it were just a few bad cats, but…

He was there, as two entire clans had done nothing to help two children about to be murdered. As a good cat was murdered. He thinks of how Bluestar was forced to hide her children and could never be with them, how her daughter had died for it, her son had died for being half-clan, and how her surviving daughter was held captive. He thinks of Yellowfang, too. How she had suffered. Or Silverstream… the list goes on and on and on.

… Do the codes even work? When the clans allow the murders and deaths of children, but aren’t held accountable for it? When parents and their kittens are punished for the crime of falling in love? Is that right? Maybe, the code’s laws should not be his compass.

Firestar does not forgive Tigerstar loyalists. Their actions and inaction are not forgotten, just as his dear friend’s children will never forget. Just as They will not go unpunished. Just as the dead can never come back to life. He deposes Leopardstar, and he exiles who he can. He kills whoever won’t listen. He will never, ever allow something like this to happen again.

StarClan does not approve. And Firestar cannot trust them anymore. They refused Nightstar but approved of Tigerstar as a leader, despite having already killed and attempted to kill again? They approve of the codes? The codes that have allowed and even encouraged this bloodshed to occur in the first place? And he is wrong for wanting to hold the guilty accountable?

The clans are uncontrollable. The codes are wrong. StarClan is wrong. The Clans are wrong. And so, there is only him. His judgment beyond all else. Cats are fallible, but he is not. The prophecy is proof of it.

What I can tell you beyond these test results, is that this beautiful creature successfully bred four solid patterned ewes this winter that produced a total of 9 lambs, of which all were either solid pattern or mouflon pattern; 5 rams and 4 ewes. "
