I LOVE THIS GUY.
All those "spend just 35 minutes doing a bunch of really hard exercises and you'll feel great forever!" videos are really discouraging. I usually end up doing like, 2 minutes of some of his while waiting for my shower to heat up, and ykw?
That's 2 minutes more than I would have done otherwise.
oh hey I have a thing like that last one that I like to do sometimes, but I do it lying down in bed. it's a very satisfying pop/shift in my hips/lower back, but doesn't always work. maybe I will try his version and see if it is more effective for me
every time i rediscover a Life Hack from like 30,000 years ago i feel so stupid i want to kill myself. ive recently started using a normal reed basket i just found by a dumpster to carry shit around my house. i need to bring 8 things from the kitchen cabinet to the stove to bake some cookies. ok i put them in the basket, i carry them to the stove. when im done with each ingredient i place it in the basket. at the end i take the basket back to the cabinet. i do this instead of making 4-5 trips because it's too many items to hold at once. i feel like a genius. i feel like a moron. i love my simple reed basket
I love Binface so much.
Drug arrives years after pandemicās peak, but could still offer protection to vulnerable populations.
An antiviral pill has, for the first time, been shown to prevent COVID-19 in people exposed to the SARS-CoV-2 virus at home, according to trial results published today in theĀ New England Journal of Medicine1. The drug could be a lifeline for those who still face real danger from the virus, such as care-home residents or transplant recipients on immune-suppressing medication.
There are good things happening in the world.
You can read about it here without a paywall.
Households exposed to COVID-19 now have an oral drug specifically cleared to prevent infection after contact with a sick person. The FDA listed Xocova, the brand name for ensitrelvir, as a 2026 novel drug approval for post-exposure prophylaxis of COVID-19 following contact with an infected individual. The decision fills a gap that has persisted since the pandemicās early years: until now, no oral antiviral carried an FDA-approved indication for prevention rather than treatment.

so today a public health official guy came into my class to give a lecture on disaster awareness and he was talking about house fires and mentioned that the reason people most likely die during a house fire is because they refuse to leave their pet inside or they go back to get their pet. and right when he said this my friend immediately turned his head and looked at me and in that moment I had the most complete and genuine acceptance take over my body. I would 100% in front of my family and Jesus himself walk straight back into some raging inferno that was once my house to go get my fat cat. I nodded back
the best part of this post is reading all the tags from animal people who would also go back to save their pets. like no hesitation. walk backwards from heaven straight back into hell. someone even said they would go back for their fish. amazing
If you are a person who would walk into a blazing inferno for your animal, and your pet has free movement around the house, hereās a training exercise that could help save you both:
1) Set off your smoke alarm or play the sound on your phone (if your home has no smoke alarms, pease get some!)
2) stand BY THE FRONT DOOR to hand out treats
Do this a couple times and then keep it up NO EXCEPTIONS. Accidentally set the alarm off cooking? Treats by the door. Smoke alarm sound on TV? Treats by the door. Changing your smoke alarm batteries twice a year like youāre supposed to? Give them a test run and your pets get treats by the door.
Most dogs and cats will clue in VERY quickly that hearing that specific sound means go to the front door and wait for treats.
If thereās an emergency and even if you leave by another way, you will still know the most likely place your pet(s) is and can direct first responders to help.
You can also do this for any other kind of emergency alarm. My friend had both her cats trained to go to the front door for a tsunami siren.
For people in the notes confused about the connection:
Weāre living in an era of crisis. Enter lifestyle fascism: a bid to remake society by remaking the beleaguered male body.
It is no coincidence, however, that once someone has ācollected them allā from a specific set of personal commitments ā paranoia about seed oils; rejection of vaccines; a belief that biohacking or ādataā or artificial intelligence can make humans physically immortal; a nostalgia for ātraditionalā foods or gender relations ā we can pretty much predict which political forms they will favor. [...] Couched in the boosterish language of the online wellness guru, their projects link perfecting the physical self to building a better future for white men and those who love them. The ārobust energy and biological resilienceā of Liver Kingās āancestral lifestyleā is fueled by patriarchal values as much as by raw liver.
Unpasteurized milk, the carnivore diet, and other MAHA food/lifestyle choices are very much politicized, just as being anti-vaccine and anti-mask was with the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. All linked to white supremacy and far-right authoritarianism.
great
this looks helpful at least
i don't care what those tiktok and instagram influencers tell you, have three meals a day!!! have a snack!! have that sweet treat!! have food that makes you feel good!!! especially if you're a woman!! starving yourself to look "desirable" will only make you desirable to people who want you to stay malnourished forever. it's a cycle of misery!!

Hey. Heyhey. Do me a favor real quick.
If you don't already know you have issues doing so, squat down real quick. Bend your knees all the way and touch the floor. Just make sure you can do it. Okay? For me? And then stand up all the way and make sure you can balance on one foot.
Like. You don't need to blow it into some huge thing. Just. Make sure all your bits and peices still work the way you think they do.
Can you turn your head to look behind you without twisting your shoulders? What about standing on your toes? If you sit down on the floor can you get back up without using your hands?
If there was ever a tumblr post worth sending to your mom, it's this one.
Just saying, bodies are a use it or lose it kinda thing.
okay so every time I see this post crop back up in queues and notifications I end up thinking about it. Because I made the post and even I'm still doing the thing where I read the post about maintaining range of motion in my delicate meatsuit and I nod and hmm and think yeah that's a good idea and then dont move from where I'm curled up shrimp style staring at the nightmare rectangle.
So like. Thinking real hard about moving doesn't count as moving. Major bummer. Anyways. Joints.
If your answer to any of those was "no", I cannot emphasize enough that this isn't just "bummer, guess it's gone forever". You can get that mobility back, it is actually very achievable with the right modifications for your level!

Kennedy has focused on nutrition but has neglected food safety, critics say.
All of this was entirely avoidable. None of this needed to happen, none of this was inevitable.Ā
And now look at where we are, because of the dumbest fucking people in the history of the world.
40% of Americans donāt feel safe eating food we buy at the grocery store, and honestly that number is lower than it should be.Ā
I will never forget and never forgive the people who did this to us. I will despise them for the rest of their lives.
My son faces down some kind of hippo with unwaivering courage.
watching my husband get diagnosed with and treated for sleep apnea over the last year was not the thing that radicalized me re: weight and healthcare but my goodness it has solidified my stances.
sleep apnea is more common in people who are fat.
society decided for some reason that this meant that being fat causes sleep apnea. its often difficult to get referrals for sleep apnea treatment if you are fat, because some PCPs will tell you try losing weight first.
turns out!! having untreated sleep apnea causes weight gain in a not-insignificant number of people. it also makes it fucking impossible for many people to lose weight.
my husband worked out the same amount before he got a cpap as he does now. there have been no major diet changes either. yet he has been losing weight -- and gaining muscle tone -- consistently since he started using a cpap in january.
also, his blood pressure -- which was high, which docs blamed on his weight/diet -- went down significantly within one month of starting cpap treatment, before his weight changed significantly.
ANYWAYS. this is getting long. two final thoughts.
- I Want To Strangle Medical Fatphobia With My Bare Fucking Hands
- if you are exhausted constantly for "no reason", and especially if you snore, you should probably ask your doctor about getting tested for sleep apnea. it is extremely common -- estimates are around 1 in 10 people -- and is also wildly under-diagnosed. like, some estimates suggest that 80% of people with moderate-severe sleep apnea are undiagnosed.
Youāre completely correct. Out of my way, able-bodied losers. Fuck you.
It's called an EZRide+ and you can learn where to find them here. They're about $1100 US as of June 2026, but you might need to buy additional parts to attach them to your chair, depending on the style of chair.
Remember to put links to products like this, they're usually hard to find and a lot of people need to know they exist.
THIS IS SO COOL

The fact that we have a desert in Germany still freaks me out. Like this should not be, but it is.
You canāt just post something like that without telling us where. I want to visit the German desert!Ā
Itās somewhere in Brandenburg in the general area of Cottbus
The Lieberos Heath lies about 20 kilometres north of Cottbus in Lower Lusatia. In 1994 it was transferred from the Bundeswehr to the state of Brandenburg and became a nature reserve, fauna-flora habitat and European bird sanctuary. The biodiversity that can be found here is enormous. Today pines, heather and dry grasses lie quietly in the landscape on 25,000 hectares that was a former military training area.
Within the heath we have the desert everyone is talking about. The Lieberos Desert, also known (also justĀ ādesertā orĀ āLIttle Siberiaā) is a sandy open area of about five square kilometres within the Lieberos Heath.
As late as 1992, many a commuter travelling between Lieberose and Peitz had to stop on the main road. Russian forces were holding their manoeuvres and the road went right through the tank firing range. At least it was closed before the shooting. The area had been a military training ground much earlier. The Nazis had big plans for the Lieberos Heath. When the Waffen-SS began to build up its personnel at the end of 1942, they needed accommodation and training sites. For this reason, the SS Kurmark training area was to be expanded. Forced labourers from all over Europe and concentration camp prisoners arrived in the region. Jamlitz, GroĆ Muckrow, Chossewitz Ullersdorf and 13 other villages were to be forcibly resettled.
The Lieberos Desert was also created during this time. The cause was a large forest fire that left 1700 hectares of bare land behind. Decades of military use, rolling tanks and transport convoys ensured that the open terrain was preserved. At a good five square kilometres in size, it is still the largest desert area in Germany today.
The grandstand on General Hill was built for the Waffenbrüderschaft manoeuvre in 1970, when 50,000 soldiers from the Warsaw Pact countries moved through the desert and heathland. Leonid Brezhnev, head of the Soviet Unionās party and state, and Erich Honecker watched the spectacle from there. The Russian forces left in 1992. But the traces of the military are far from gone. Thousands of hectares of the area are considered contaminated with munitions. This makes it difficult to extinguish forest fires. The paths leading through parts of the area are safe. In the Sukzessionspar you can wanter through nature and see how it is slowly returning.
At first, mosses and grass grow in the desert sand, small pines and birches advance further and further. The desert becomes steppe, later the pioneer forest becomes a mixed forest. And the animals come back. Spiders and insects, even the Italian grasshopper have already been sighted. Eagles circle overhead, wolf packs feel undisturbed. Inf fact this is where the wolf first returned to Germany, the first pups on German soild were born in the Lieberos Desert. Moose also come over for a visit from Poland.
A small correction: the first wolves born in Germany after they resettled here werenāt born in the Lieberose Heath, but the Muskau Heath.
This whole obsession with wheelchair users struggling on foot down the aisle at their wedding or across the stage for graduation is 100% powered by ableism.
āThe heartwarming story of how one woman worked for 8 months straight so she could escape the horror that is being in wheelchair for a few short minutes to struggle slowly and painfully down the aisle on her special day.ā
āthe horror that is being in a wheelchairā bitch itās hella better than struggling slowly & painfully down the aisle ffs
āDespite being permanently paralyzed, her one goal since her accident has been to walk across the stage for graduation. The whole crowd gave her a standing ovation and broke into tears when she dragged her paralyzed legs across the stage with the help of leg braces and a walker to collect her diploma, after which she immediately sat back down in her wheelchair, which she will use to move around for the rest of her life.ā
How the hell is this an inspirational story? This person needs better goals. And a therapist.
Theyāre toxic in an even greater way because as a disabled person, I didnāt realise till I was reading this how much I had internalised that. I genuinely have had feelings of fear and shame about using a chair or a walker if I get married. And why? Because Iām constantly seeing āheartwarmingā stories about disabled people who shed their mobility aids for that moment. Why the hell am I afraid of using them to get married? Anyone who marries me or attends the wedding will know I need them and love me regardless.
Bless this post for making me realise Iād internalised that shit.
These types of stories teach people, both abled and disabled, that using mobility aids, especially wheelchairs, is inferior.
here are some beautiful brides in chairs with dresses they ROCK. I know a lot of disabled ppl with internalized ableism think they āwonāt look goodā if they use their chair, but hereās some literally gorgeous gals for ur consideration
(that last ones cute as fuck and i teared up at it)
Who needs a bouquet when you can be a bouquet?
I made my addition to this post in June 2019. Its now January 2020 and I no longer feel guilty about the idea of going down the aisle one day with mobility aids.
God bless the disabled community, y'all saved me from some internalised bullshit
This post floated by a few months ago, and I remember something to effect of thereās a difference between recovery and refusal. That is, like, I have a friend that suffered an incomplete spinal cord injury. He can walk again now, and I donāt think Iāve seen him use his chair in a few years. When he walked at his graduation, it was to show off his recovery. That he wasnāt quite ready to go through a full day upright, but he could walk across a stage, unassisted, and soon he would be able to do that every day. Thereās also a difference in someone like me choosing to not use a mobility aid. My mobility is intensely fluid, especially seasonally. So, I would plan a summer wedding. And while I love my cane it can also be the biggest pain in my ass, so Iād want to just go unassisted. But thatās normal for me, at least right now. I can walk without an aid during about half of the year. Itās reasonable to assume I can make it through one day without it. All of that is different than someone that is fully and permanently paralyzed, that will never walk again, dragging themselves along because they feel thatās somehow better. Overall though, my biggest takeaway is fuck the media. Because disabled people should be able to make whatever decision they want without the media turning it into this grand inspirational story.
Disabled people should be able to make whatever decision they want without the media turning it into this grand inspirational story.
THIS.
Couldnāt pass up the opportunity to add my disabled joy to this post. Look at this love!
Taking the opportunity to add these photos of Jessica Kellgren-Fozard and her wife Claudia, from this twitter post. JessicaĀ also has a youtube channel thatās primarily about disability and chronic illness and LGBT stuff (itās amazing!)Ā
I would also like to personally share, Annika Victoria who ALSO has a youtube channel. This photo was taken from her instagram - she made her wedding dress dress herself, BY HAND. Her youtube channel is mostly DIY fashion and sewing tutorials. I love her so much, sheās so unapologetically herself and informative
I also wanna add these pictures of Ade Adepitan fucking rocking this badass suit at his wedding! Give my fellow disabled mascs some love too
look how much fun theyāre both having! yes!
and also this couple, who are both wheelchair users
this is from their beautifully coordinated wedding!
