Ok, mother of GOD that's a lot of responses and I am but one man with Excel. I'll update these ASAP but also some rules:

I don’t see myself as being particularly computer-y, but I’m now realizing that that’s only because to pull the things off that I pull off, I need to be surrounded by guys that are 100x even more computer-y than me

Here’s a picture of her and her dog. Sometimes it’s hard to really conceptualize these things without faces to go with the names. I wonder why no major news outlets have focused on this story, or posted this photo of her with her golden retriever. Her dog looks just like mine. My heart is shattered every time I look at this.

Gilbert was a service dog dropout, who flunked out because he was “too friendly.” The Hortmans, of course, were thrilled to officially adopt him. He was the second retriever the Hortmans fostered and trained through Helping Paws. Their other foster dog, Minnie, was successfully placed as a veteran’s service dog. Helping Paws is always accepting donations in Melissa and Gilbert’s memory:

“You think every citizen should have access to free and accessible healthcare?”

This is so funny. The 90s had the most absolutely heinous hyper processed candies. Unchallenged champion of checkout counter bullshit.

I think this also includes the important idea of imagining the other. Sighted people (like myself) often consider visuals the *most important* part of an experience. This isn't and can't be the case for a blind person. If you don't have sight, then the particulars about the color/expression/etc. aren't necessarily going to be important to you.

Listen, I think D&D goblins as lil bat-like folk accurately captures everything that people really like about them while avoiding some of the troubling implications.

I had to throw down some quick doodles because I love this idea. Possibly a bit too literally Bat to start, but I hope I remember to play around with this more later.
