–Yo no comprendo a los futbolistas –dice Quino abriéndose camino ante mi Provocación–. La mayoría de los futbolistas son de extracción humilde, pero después, cuando alcanzan la fama, se convierten en astros insoportables.

–¿El hecho de que el fútbol sea, como se dice, una válvula de escape a un mundo repleto de represiones, para usted, ¿es positivo o negativo?

–Negativo, porque a la energía que se escapa en las canchas la gente debiera invertirla en la lucha por mejorar la realidad.

–¿Cómo se puede explicar la gran adhesión de los argentinos hacia el fútbol?

–Bueno, mi respuesta va a parecer antipática.

–No importa…

–A los argentinos les atrae el fútbol por la misma razón que no les atraen las cosas verdaderamente importantes.
