Not the first time I’ve drawn the command center, but hey, doesn’t hurt to draw it again. Not much has changed in my interpretation. I just updated my approach to rendering and of course, I updated Buzzy and Hypothalamus’s designs.

“The immune system, the hypothalamus, the ventro-medial frontal cortices, and the Bill of Rights have the same root cause.” ― Antonio Damasio
In The Background
Written for @versesbyaaliyah 's 'The Organ Rebellion' challenge.
I am the one who carries your scars. Who knows all your secrets, the one who has been with you from the start. I have seen your smile and your tears. I have heard your laugh and your scream.
All you’ve been through, I have been through it with you.
I have controlled your hunger and your rage. I have balanced your love and your fear. I have dimmed your lights, and await your sleep. I have kept your peace, and held your trembling hands.
I tell the gland what to do, the hormones where to go.
And I stood by as you hurt, as you lied, and pretended to be fine. I stood by as you ignored my pleas for help.
But I can only do so much. I can only suggest. Because in the end... you’re the one who pulls the strings.
Buzzythalamus slop HOORAY
Buzzy is 100% the one who starts it. After that first interaction, he makes a point to "check in" on Hypothalamus daily, just to say hello and ask how the automatic functions are running. He's the only one who ever does.
Buzzy's love language is Words of Affirmation ("You're doing a great job!"). Hypothalamus's is Acts of Service (He secretly runs Buzzy's systems a little more efficiently).
Hypothalamus loves Buzzy's constant, cheerful narration of everything. To everyone else, it's rambling. To Hypothalamus, whose existence is a silent, endless loop, it's the most soothing soundtrack.
For Buzzy, who is constantly berated and thrown into chaotic situations, the quiet, predictable, and non-judgmental presence of Hypothalamus is a safe haven.
Hypothalamus is Terrible at Emotions. He speaks in monotone facts ("Heart rate elevated. Pupils dilated. Symptoms consistent with romantic attraction.") as a way of saying "I love you"

Informational diagram: How sensory information is processed by the brain
Sensory information is taken in by the occipital lobe, parietal lobe, temporal lobe, and/or the olfactory lobe.
The lobes send the sensory information to the somatosensory cortex.
The somatosensory cortex sends the information to the thalamus, which connects to the limbic system.
The information is sent to the amygdala, which gives initial/primal reactions to the stimuli.
The amygdala's reactions (including fight or flight response) are sent to the hippocampus, hypothalamus, and the frontal cortex.
The pituitary gland receives signals from the hypothalamus, then sends signals for the endocrine system to excrete hormones throughout the body. The frontal cortex sends rationalized information to the motor cortex, which controls voluntary actions.

This is the comic I made for our biology reporting ^^ It showcases how our body handles emergencies like pregnancy and what type of body mechanism it does.
