she was criticized for racism and antisemitism (remember cho chang? or how lavender brown suddenly turned white when she became plot relevant? literally everything about the goblins and the house elves?) misogyny, homophobia and plenty of other shit before her transmisogyny was common knowledge
remember how she said that werewolfism was a metaphor for the fucking aids crisis? remember that weird shit she pulled with snape's redemption arc? or when she heavily implied that umbridge got raped by centaurs and it was treated as like a funny thing?
but because she hates trans women yall are willing to look past all of that and laud her as a feminist icon. i feel like im in the goddamn twilight zone
Hey OP, you're so right and you should say it. But just so misinformation isn't spread and used against the post. JK never implied that Umbridge was raped. It's was a random theory based on classic centaurs myth, but never implied to be a thing by her or the books. (And I mean, since when does JK care to be faithful to the myths she uses. not that this time it would be good to be... tbh) Anyway, JK is still a bigot who supports real-life abusers and rapists, and TERFs are as well, fuck her, and them, anyway.
