Original Animatic | CHURCH | Part 1

Part 2

I came up with the characters and story solely for this project; they are not “from” anything, just this!  The nun’s name is Sanga, the demon’s name is Ashivon, and you can find more of them here.

An animatic is, by its nature, a planning stage for animation.  But since I wasn’t sure whether this one would ever end up being fully animated, I put extra care into it.  So now it’s in that animatic/animation gray area.  While making this video, I was torn between the thought “well this is some melodramatic middle-school bullshit” and “actually it’s pretty good”.  In the end, I’d like to think it’s both things. :) 

I’m hardly an anatomy buff but I gave it my best shot!  think three-dimensionally! ^u^b

With the dark part on the arms, I can see in the refs that it cuts off about 2/3-¾ of the way up from the wrist, but I haven’t been able to figure out how far up the legs it goes. The tail is dark where it connects to the back, so does that cover the whole lower half? Or are there lighter parts closer to the torso like a German Shepherd?

My art classes this semester are all based on digital art, so I decided to get some practice with some of the men from Wolfsong and Ravensong. 

Can you guess who’s who? 

I can only say, that I copped out on drawing Robbie … because I thought, drawing a wolf would be easier and then I realized, that I was so wrong but too stubborn to erase it. He’ll be there next time, promise!
