Small reminder that DID is often a covert disorder and overt DID is actually pretty rare. A person could go their whole life without knowing they have DID because that's the point. You do not need to know who you are all the time or who's fronting or need to feel like you're a faker because you act the same pretty much all the time. You do not need to act drastically different between your headmates to be valid.
The one thing I can articulate is that no amount of being disabled can prevent you from being ableist. Especially towards people with different impairment types or more severe disability.

Something about living with autism and IDD (and I'm sure tons of other disabilities, these are just the specific ones that effect my experience with communication and learning) is that I've become deeply aware that the world, especially the internet, is run in a "no room for error" mindset. And it's even worse in hardcore activism spaces.
The second you ask a "basic" question, the second you miss context on a specific issue, the second you fumble your words or don't know how to explain your point, it's over for you.
You are painted as an idiot who shouldn't be allowed involvement in topics that are "above your intellect" (ie; politics, peoples rights, environmentalism, etc), or you're painted as a villain with malicious intent who is trying to spread dangerous propaganda.
There is no room for good faith and no room for discussion. You are either a perfect activist or not allowed to be an activist at all.

[PS: This is not a vaguepost about any specific person. This is about a cluster of experiences that I've had since I was just a teenager, and what I see happening to other people online like me.]
people always describe the system experience as either the host makes all the decisions with input from their headmates, or the headmates vote and come to a collective decision, but what i experience is more closer to a dictatorship where whoever’s fronting at the moment does whatever the fuck they want until they leave and then it repeats with the next fronter and the one after that too.
Magical girl transformation where I look exactly the same by the end except my posture and speech are different and I have to be reminded of several details on the conversation we just had
Stop saying…
“Psychotic/Schizophrenic” when you mean: unpredictable, unrestrained, unreal, etc.
“Bipolar” when you mean: polarized, scattered, fickle, unstable, etc.
“Delusional” when you mean: unrealistic, unreasonable, close-minded, stubborn, etc.
“[insert “R” slur in relation to intellectual disabilities]” when you mean: unreasonable, ridiculous, scatterbrained, immature, etc.
“OCD” when you mean: particular, neat, overbearing, etc.
“Narcissistic” when you mean selfish, abusive, manipulative, etc.
Note: I’m NOT saying that these are synonymous. This is also not an exhaustive list.

Maybe this is an unpopular hot take, but I think a good monster girl design should struggle with day-to-day life in a human world. If your monster girl can live a normal human life where her greatest inconvenience is wet dog smell or people assuming her tail is fake, you need to mix more monster in your girl.
Harpies who can't write or type or open most containers with their wings. Werewolves who worry about hurting someone if they get overstimulated at the wrong time. Minotaurs with digestive systems and metabolisms which require grazing throughout the day, not the three big meals humans are used to.
Lamias who have to stay home in the evenings and during cold months to stay warm, otherwise their muscles stop working right and they get stranded. And they're sick of their human friends suggesting they get some kind of tail sweater. It wouldn't help, the problem is that their body doesn't produce enough heat to begin with, and anyways a tail garment would get in the way of their rectilinear locomotion, and there's no way a sweater would survive being walked on in the first place. It feels like they don't actually care about you being stuck at home whenever they go out, they just want to feel like it's not their fault they never see you.
If your monster girl can't be read as some kind of disability allegory, you're doing something wrong.
well that's one way to make yourself known
where's the love for irritable f/o's? f/o's that mutter under their breath in frustration, f/o's that grumble and gripe over every little thing, f/o's that insist they're being realistic when everyone else is dramatic.
they might seem cold but they're the softest once you crack them open; they're desperate for a little affection and care deep down. they'll still insist they don't, of course, but just kiss their cheek and they'll melt against you.

Having multiple F/O's is funny cause sometimes my brain will alternate between which ones to think about randomly throughout the day and it kinda feels like they're all fighting to try and get my attention or something
