- on things you give to the homeless for good luck, attracting money and/or job opportunities. hermes be with them!

- in your car for safe driving and getting to your destination quickly

- on a piece of paper in your pillow for good dreams

Sometimes He’s there so much so you can almost feel His touch. And sometimes He’s just gone, you can’t feel Him at all and wonder when you’ll get “it” back. In those moments I like to think we are like His arrows. He picks us up, directs us, and then releases us from his bow - that’s when He suddenly vanishes into the background and you seem adrift. But all you’ve got to do is trust He’s behind you, and know that His arrows never miss. You’re going where you need to go, follow the direction He set you on. And He will come back, pick you up back into His quiver, until the next time He needs you to hit a mark <3

Apparently someone decided to go into a bunch of people’s ask boxes and accuse them of being nationalists. If you’re interested in helping fight the nationalist presence in hellenism/dodekatheism then that’s not the way to do it. I’ve been involved in anti-nationalist efforts since late 2006. Here’s some things I’ve learned and how we, as a community, need to fight against nationalists.

First, vocally, loudly, and consistently make it clear that nationalists are not welcome in your space or your community. This tells others that you and your blog are safe. It also tells nationalists that they’re going to have a harder time getting their voices heard because we are aware of them and are fighting against them.

Two, learn to recognize nationalist arguments and how to fight against those. The earliest and most insidious methods they use are attempts to divide communities. They try to “other” people you may previously have related to.

Three, if you’re aware of a nationalist in the community, speak out. Do NOT throw around accusations without support though. Spreading countless accusations muddied the waters, making it easier for actual nationalists to hide. It lessens the perceived severity of actual nationalists by turning the word into an exaggeration, think the boy who cried wolf. It also can be used by nationalists to divide the community, because they KNOW that people recognize what they’re doing as wrong and they may spread rumors about non-nationalists in order to isolate them from the community and cause division. Supporting evidence is an important part of this step, so that we’re not doing their work for them.

Four, spread factual information to counter their ideology.

Five, be welcoming and supportive of those most at risk to be targeted by nationalists.

Six, continue your efforts. This isn’t a one post and done kind of thing. Nationalists aren’t going to stop just because we reblogged one post that said “nazis not allowed” we need to continue to include activism in our communities in order to keep nationalists from having a voice.
