i have never experienced this phenomenon of korean news/media/public online behavior be observed/analyzed/criticized by foreign social media users on a mass scale like this before. and while there are legitimate issues with the way some koreans act and they're rightfully called out on, this literally applies to every citizen of every country. it's starting to feel weird to me that korea's soft power has infiltrated niche parts of the internet so deeply that foreigners look at random korean people/sociocultural phenomenon through a microscope and start analyzing us as if they're writing a letterboxd review. like sometimes, i can't help but think, people should mind their own business...
like foreigners saying "omg i can't believe koreans are soooo obsessed with women fitting a beauty standard"..... so the people in your country don't force women into a beauty standard? where do you live
