I will continue posting in favour of there being fewer people like that
god my heart is fucking breaking for all these people THERE IS STILL TIME DO YOU HEAR ME
IT ISN'T TOO LATE AS LONG AS YOU'RE ALIVE
hi everybody i started HRT at 35 so like don't even despair
being in ur twenties makes u feel like 30 is a brick wall u either fly over or crash into but i promise u it's a door and it opens up into the rest of ur life like getting past the prologue of an open world game
very important addition from @thatsladyfaggottoyou ty <3
I started HRT at approximately 30 and top surgery at 32 just 4.5 months prior to this photo. It's never too late.
''what if you regret it'' then you will expirience regret - a normal and unavoidable part of the human expirience.
if you're sitting on a fanfic idea because you think it's "too weird" or "too niche" I need you to understand something: the internet is VAST and FULL of people with your exact brand of weird. that crackship that makes sense only to you? there are at least 50 people who will read it and go "oh my god FINALLY." but even if there were ZERO? you still deserve to write the thing that makes your brain light up.
Oh easy mistake. Yearning actually rises from the floor and longing hangs from the ceiling

maybe y'all didn't notice but fat people who don't hate ourselves sure did notice that people were obsessed with shitting on fat people in the late 90s and early 2000s (conservative political time) and now are again (fascist political time), coincidentally while the market for weight loss has become a 90 billion dollar industry due to glp1s.
you are not immune to propaganda. it makes some people a whole hell of a lot of money for you to hate fat people and fear becoming (or staying, I think like 70% or something of the US is fat) one of us.
a lot of the fearmongering over fatness comes from studies directly funded by the weight loss industry...i think people don't really realize or think about the fact that research can absolutely be influenced and skewed by its funding. there is also research that shows that an amount of the negative health outcomes for fat people come from anti-fat bias. if you go to the doctor with concerns and the doctor simply tells you to lose weight, your problem is neglected and you may not even bother going to the doctor with the next problem.
every fat person you know for the most part probably has a story like this, of medical neglect. many of the stories i've heard personally are when the complaint or the doctor wasn't related at all, like being told to lose weight at the ear nose and throat doctor or at the dentist. it's straight up just bias. it's such a thing that in the show Shrill it's portrayed, when Aidy Bryant goes to the gynecologist and her doctor suggests she get gastric bypass.
the studies on health and fatness are simply not that black and white and there is basically no research that shows that more than an incredibly tiny minority of people can lose weight and keep it off for more than like 2 years. bodies have set points that they gravitate towards, it's not a personal failure. this also is how the weight loss industry succeeds so well - repeat customers.
some of the harm associated with fatness is also due to weight cycling, which is very hard on your body and is even worse if you get off a GLP1, which according to a recent study causes weight to be regained at a rate that is 4x faster than without taking a GLP1.
you don't have to hate yourself. you don't have to hate other people for their body type either. it makes me so sad to see the thinspo tag going around again in 2026 a lot like it was back in the day.

there's so much crazy shit once you go down the rabbit hole. for example, BMI was not invented by anyone with a medical background. it was never meant to measure individual health.
The U.S. weight loss industry reached an unprecedented high in 2023, estimated at $90 billion, largely driven by surging sales of the widely
Evidence is mounting that our body fat supports everything from our bone health to our mood, and now, research suggests it also regulates bl

Writing tips:
“You feel the bulge in his pants” - implies that you are feeling some guy’s penis, may be sexy depending on context
“You feel the bugle in his pants” - implies that this guy has a military horn in his pants, invites confusing questions like why does he have that and how big are his pockets
Both options convey that he's horny
How dare you be funnier than me on my own post
this can't be true can it
Apparently yes and I cannot wrap my head around this. You're telling me most of these teens and early 20 something's dominating social media do not even have a laptop full of organized directories of favorite images? They aren't downloading and playing with creative SOFTWARE rather than stupid little "apps??" They already can't navigate what was supposed to be the new standard level of technological familiarity!?
what the fuck
oh so this is why no one pirates media anymore
Pc is more customizable and has a bigger screen. It’s easier to block ads. I can actually read recipes on my pc and never think about ads while I’m using it. Typing is faster, print is bigger, an actually good version of mahjong comes free with it. Clicking things feels good.
I'm 28 and teach High School and things have changed in the 10 years since I was in school. When I was in school the average student knew way more about all digital technology than the teachers. I remember helping my teachers with tech issues all the time. That has completely flipped now.
Teenagers are now more digitally illiterate than teachers. I had to show several students in each class how to add bullet points to a document the other day.
At the beginning of this year I regularly had students call me over and say they can't find something they are searching for on Google because it didn't pop up on the summary box at the top. At no point did they think to scroll down and look at the other links or click into a website to see if they can find it by reading the article. They are beginning to learn but it was disturbing that 15 year olds didn't know how to find basic information online.
It gets worse the further you go back. Back when gen Z was in elementary school, administrators believed that those kids would be so entrenched in the digital world that there was no need to teach them to type, how to use email, or how to stay safe online. Then they decided that teaching students how to write wasn't important because typing is more common. But they aren't taught how to type, and typing isn't something you learn by osmosis.
No keyword use on Google, no ability to write an email, no understanding of customization unless it's listed in the opening stages of purchasing a new phone. It's not their fault - they've been let down from the beginning. I can't tell you how often I've had to help my sisters look something up because they didn't know how. I used to type their last-minute essays while they dictated because I can type at 90 wpm and they could type around 20 wpm in high school.
Kids today have been let down in ways I can't believe, in ways I struggle to understand. I teach college students, most of whom think their canvas inbox is their email account. It's an uphill battle that they have no choice but to fight.
People have real issues understanding why the absence of romance and sexual desire is such a big deal. "No one bothers you over your sexual orientation! You're basically a straight person!" No wrong. The older you get the more your life is considered a failure for failing to find a life partner and get your 2.5 kids in.
Like people make fun of middle aged women for not getting married or being divorced or "always the bridesmaid never the bride" and all like "oh she's desperate! No one wants her! Old maid!' but they become straight up hostile and upset when you tell them you never want to date.
Being unpartnered after your mid twenties is just like "oh what's wrong with you" and "don't worry you'll find your guy" "aren't you afraid of being alone" "who will take care of you" "you're running out of time to have kids" and no matter what you are or aren't people straight up don't understand that you don't want them.
People tend to forget that queer is a word that means weird, and if you step out of heteronormativity you're weird in the eyes of the heteonormative society, wether you want different relationships or no relationships at all.
The core wound of this demographic is being rejected and being relentlessly asked to stop your bullshit relative to romance and sex, and to get back in the ranks. The aroace definitely qualify.
And since being rejected is obviously a veeeeery common trauma in the queer community, and people tend to reenact unhealed patterns, it's not rare to see queer people rejecting other queer people with shit like biphobia, being picky with who "qualify" as trans, dismissing aroaces etc...
Let's put rejection somewhere on a dusty shelf for a while and see how it feels. I'm sure it's freeing.
Also being aroace does not exempt you from having to avoid unwanted advances, threats or cohersion, medical neglect, pressuring for uneccesary medical intervention and gaslighting, issues with bodily autonomy and reproductive resources, conversion therapy, bioessentialism, sexism, misogyny and issues with legal autonomy when it comes to things like home ownership estate planning, medical power of attourney and adoption.
I feel like the reason people often get so fucking tilted about us being aro and/or ace is because they value their romantic/sexual relationships so highly and sacrifice so much to acquire and maintain them, and to see someone just not care about any of that probably feels like a bit of a kick in the teeth, like they might've done it all for nothing. It's the same kind of reaction you see in skinny people who place a lot of value on their conventionally attractive bodies when they encounter someone who doesn't feel appropriately guilty about being fat; they put a lot of effort into earning their place of privilege in society and it rankles them when you refuse to recognise it by playing along.
Anyway, that shit is all made up, and so is its supposed "value", so do whatever you want forever. Fuck 'em. 👌
Reblogging this chain during pride month because yeah
I have an irrational anger against how Rachel reid treats the closet. Like the reason many queer people choose to stay closeted is bcoz theyre cowards or whatever. like its the hetero trope of the asshole boyfriend asking his gf to keep their relationship a secret. Like. Thats not what the closet is. Some of us get hate crimed.
This is actually the biggest reason why I ended up hating the books so much. They display such a contempt for being in the closet. Scott and Shane are both condemned by the narrative for their desire to stay inside of it. Happiness comes when you Come Out and Live Your Truth 🌈🏳️🌈✨ in the most public possible way. Wanting to be in the closet is treated with such little compassion to the point where it’s borderline a moral failing. Even if all of the bad things that you were afraid of happen, you’ll still be happy, because you are Out and Living Your Truth 🌈🏳️🌈✨
I grew up in a space where it wasn’t super okay to be queer. The first few times I tried to come out to people went kind of shitty. And I had much better experiences than some of my friends. One of my friends told the wrong person that he was bi and that guy decided to try to beat the gay out of him.
To be frank, I am very angry at these books. I think its dialogue around the closet is devoid of compassion for the people in it. I think its treatment of outing is dangerously callous. And I’ve seen its mindset towards both be adopted by a lot of the people in this fandom. It makes me fucking mad.
