Finally a hand sewing tutorial on a hemline that isn't just the ladder stitch! the ladder stitch disappears when you tighten it, but it's not meant for hemlines because it breaks really easily! The overlock stitch is more stable, so it holds much longer, and it won't pucker or warp the fabric!

it's okay to draw for glory. don't let anyone convince you that art has to be a hobby. you don't have to rest or take breaks. if you feel yourself hitting a wall feel free to lose sleep over the process. you can forgo friendship if you need to. it's completely fine to want to want your art to win you immortality through your influence and canonization as a master. you don't have to take it easy

as much as i get the sentiment behind "make more bad art" there's gotta be a better way of communicating "you don't have to be technically proficient or hold yourself to a specific standard of practice" that doesn't sound as backhanded lol

I think your bubble is showing a bit here. I'm not an artist. I know plenty of people who aren't artists. Because we don't make art. I don't draw, I don't sing, I don't write. I play StarCraft and watch fallout. I used to be an artist when I was 5 but not anymore.

the point isn't that Everybody Makes Art. moreso that the term separates people into two categories of artist and non artist, and defines what it means to create art under capitalism. many of my friends do not pursue creative endeavours, but they are no less capable of creating art than anybody else. i find the distinction between these groups to be pointless and discouraging, putting a wall around what art even is
