Top 5 video game characters
Practically all my favorite fictional characters are video game characters how am I supposed to narrow it down? 😂
Solas - From the Dragon Age series. I want to crack his skull open and dissect his brain. He’s a wonderful blend of horrible choices, a dichotomy of pridefulness and self loathing, and genuine wisdom and kindness that I will never get tired of. I need to chew on him. Throw in that it’s possible to have him in a TRAGIC ROMANCE with the character you create and it’s impossible to not obsess over him!
Cassandra Pentagast - Also from Dragon Age. She’s flawless. She doesn’t mince words or sit around and wait for someone else to get things done. Sword and shield warrior badass! She also has a storyline about her questioning her faith that doesn’t end with her abandoning it, which I found relatable and refreshing.
Gale Dekarios - From Baldur’s Gate 3. WIZARD HUSBAND! He’s just so handsome and intelligent but also dorky and charming and guuuuhhh!!! Beardy nerd is my weakness and he fits the bill. It also doesn’t hurt that his storyline is interesting and engaging as well.
Lulu - From Final Fantasy X. I really appreciated her stoicism and quiet strength throughout the game. She was really empathetic with the other characters while not having that be portrayed as motherly, at least not overtly. Also her weapons were all plushies which I thought was hilarious.
Ezio Auditore - From Assassin’s Creed. I have left the series as a whole behind me, but I will always have a special place in my heart for Ezio. My early 20’s were largely spent obsessing over him as a character and crying about his life.
Okay baseball players! Is it cheating if I list former Braves as favorites?
Freddie Freeman - Yeah, yeah former Brave but he’s been away long enough he counts. He’s very talented and just an overall good guy. Can’t hate Freddie ever.
Max Fried - Also a former Brave but I’m not over us losing him okay? What a freakin’ ace! He’s gonna pitch a no hitter someday I just know it.
Pete Crow-Armstrong - He plays with his whole heart! How can you not root for this kid!?
Vinnie Pasquantino - Honestly he wasn’t really on my radar until this past WBC. Then he really won me over with the espresso celebration and his appreciation of his teammates.
J.T. Realmuto - He’s a talented catcher but I think I mostly like him because my boss has a hilariously adorable man crush on him so we talk about him a lot at work lol.
