A Makoto in a long established relationship with Majima mysteriously time travels back to that December in 88 and gets to re-meet the old version of her Goro. And maybe bring him some comfort in hard times.

Majima never returns to the Tojo Clan at the beginning of Y3. And some time later he moves to Morning Glory and tries to grapple with a mundane civilian life with Kiryu. This one is a bit of a character study on Majima & does a lot with each of the kids at Morning Glory. It's as much about his relationship with them as it is about his relationship with Kiryu.
Kiryu is entranced by Goromi after their meeting. He decides to take the plunge and ask her on a date. And then another, and another. She becomes his girlfriend and his relationship with Majima evolves.
This is a really interesting fic to me because it takes elements from Yakuza 5 and then crafts an entire new plot set before the game that diverges fully from the original events. Aka Majima shows up in Nagasugai to bug Kiryu in the midst of his self imposed exile and fucks shit up.
Inception's dreamsharing technology meets yakuza series plot. That's about all you need to know. Does some super interesting stuff with Majima and YK1's plot.
Nishiki goes to prison for the murder of Dojima. Kiryu doesn't take his place. Everything begins to crumble around Kiryu and as his life falls apart Majima swoops in to bring him back from his dark spiral.

i dont think shipping is antithetical to good media analysis but even in situations when the romantic reading absolutely makes a story worse sometimes you have to go well. we're playing with toys. yes i know this character would not get into a conventional romantic relationship and if they did itd ruin a lot of the themes of the story but fortunately the original story still exists and i have no control over it. im playing in the space and nobody can stop me.
