Fiyeraba Fic Rec List
Ok, here we go again, a new Fiyeraba Fanfic rec list. I am 100% sure that I forgot some awesome ones because I still hate myself for not remembering some I read back in the years.
But here are some of my favourites for now and as before, I'm eventually gonna add to it.
And yes, I have totally already mentioned some of them, but as this is a new list, I'm gonna add everything (again). And I have actually put it in a nice order so that you can chose between alaym, shiz-years, etc.
Also, I'm pretty sure there are some new Fiyeraba shippers (Hi!).
So beyond the line, you will find some great Elphaba and Fiyero Fanfiction links.
As long as you're mine Ok, first of all, there are tons of old and (now) new alaym fanfics. For now, I have only added two. The first one as it's juicy and is imo the best one and the second because I remember how I liked that it had a fresh view onto alaym. I will add more to the alaym section for sure, but I wanted to get this rec list out of my system for now (and I don't have all day to browse through fanfic sides sadly)
Just for this moment (Rated Explicit) by Ellitheria Oneshot. Umm....probably one of the best alaym fan fictions I've read. It's high explicit, so proceed only if you're willing to read. I love that it fits perfectly into the canon of the film, so I totally accept that it happened exactly this way.
A cheap rented room (Rated T) by GirlScout4Ever Multi-Chapter. This was written waaaaaaaaaaaay before the film when we all thought that Elphaba and Fiyero made love on the forest floor. So this story places them in a (as it says) cheap rented room instead and it's steamy, it's romance and just a lovely read.
For a moment by myself (hides) (Rated Mature) Oneshot. As long as you're mine afterglow <3
I swore that I would never add my own stories to this list because I am just not that good, but this one I'm actually rather proud of and I actually think it's good and it was well received so...give it a chance?
Fiyero during intermission Because apparently I like those intermission fics...
While Dancing through (Rated Mature) by Ellitheria Oneshot. Fiyero during the intermission but with the exact amount of desperation
An act of radical devotion (Rated Mature) also by Elitheria Oneshot. Fiyero intermission and Act 2 but from Feldspur's POV. What I absolutely love about this story is that it gives closure to Fiyero and Feldspar once Fiyero is the scarecrow, which was sadly left out in the movie.
Exhale (Rated General Audiences) by vinkunwildflowercqueen Oneshot. Just....I felt for Fiyero! And the he couldn't exhale part because he is so tense...yeah, I felt that.
I will stand in the dark for you (Rated Teen and Up Audiences) by Deeplyshallow Multi-Chapter. I felt Fiyero's desperation throughout the story and has him actively helping the animals throughout. And it just made me feel for him even more once he faces Elphaba again in canon.
All those letters unsent (Rated Teen and Up Audiences) by afoolsprophet Oneshot. Fiyero finds Elphabas hideout and some letters she has written. So beautiful and heart wrenching, you just feel the yearning!
Fiyeraba during Shiz years For the fluff! Personally I'm not a person who reads 100% fluff, I need some angst thrown in between, so all these recs are definitely fluffy but with angst here and there.
Falling in (Rated General Audiences) and the sequel Taking chances (Rated Mature) by Vinkunwildflowerqueen. Both Multi-Chapter. Falling in has Fiyero visiting Munchkinland with his parents as a royal duty during the summer holidays where he and Elphaba get closer. Taking Chances is the sequel to that story which deals with Elphaba and Fiyero facing challenges being a couple during their second year (and beyond) at Shiz.
And honestly, I also really enjoyed Out of the Blue (Rated Teen and Up Audiences) (again, right amount of angst) by the same author. It also has sequels.
Honestly, just browse through vinkunwildflowerqueen's stories because I guarantee you that you will find something you love. I especially love that a lot of stories have Fiyeraba during Shiz years, but not one story feels repetitive. They're just such a wonderful escape when you just want to see them being happy together (and yes, I'll say it again, there's still angst)
Blow my Mind (Rated T) by UltimateQueenOfCliffies (Multi-Chapter) Honestly, one of my favourite Shiz-era Fiyeraba stories. Because (we have established that I need some angst) it has the perfect amount of angst while still being extremely cute and you're gonna feel butterflies all over I promise you.
It has a sequel Be with me (Rated T), which deals with post Defying Gravity but where Fiyero went with Elphaba to the Emerald City and he gets on the broom with her. Once again, perfect amount of angst with a (I'm gonna say it) still happy ending.
If you're into AU stories, definitely check out the author. I'm personally not a fan of stories that differ toooo much from the original, but I have read pretty much every story of her nonetheless, because they're all so well developed and honestly, if you want to read AUs, you're gonna have a wide range of choices. From Shiz-years to Elphaba being degreenified to extremely angsty stories. You'll find something.
All the Days between (Rated Teen and Up Audiences) by Loudsandwich Multi Chapter. In which Fiyero has to leave Shiz for a while and Elphaba realizes just how much she misses him. And guys, it‘s so beautiful. I promise you that it‘ll give you all the feels.
What a wicked thing to do (to make me fall in love with you) (Rated Explicit) by Ellitheria Multi Chapter Elphaba and Fiyero are roommates and it's Explicit, but there is a plot and it's beautiful and funny.
Open up again (I believe in second chances) by Ellitheria (Rated Explicit) Oneshot This has got to have one of my favourite Fiyero's in it!! He goes to apologize to Elphaba and she grants it.
Post- Finale There are some more post-finale stories that I'm on the hunt for and have saved to check out later, so I will probably add to this at some point.
To Feel (Rated T ) by crazybeagle Multi-Chapter. This has Elphaba changing Fiyero back into human but because he has been tortured so much it's not as easy as it sounds once he's human again.
And just....the thought that Fiyero wants to feel Elphaba so badly again that he doesn't care what the change will do to him is just such a beautiful thought. A really lovely post-finale story!
Five Years (Rated General Audiences) by Cassidy_OMalley
Oneshot.
A look into Elphaba and Fiyero‘s Life five years after they fled Oz bit from Glinda‘s POV. 100% Fiyeraba, 100% beautiful.
Anything else
Skin Deep (Rated T) by HollyBush Multi-Chapter. This story starts with Elphaba and Fiyero during Shiz years but then hops over to post defying gravity and is AU from then on. And I can't tell you how incredibly beautiful this story is. It's a piece of art imo.
In Your eyes (Rated Teen and Up Audiences) by vinkunwildflowerqueen Multi-Chapter. This is a soulmate story that still follows the canon of the musical, which I love. It's beautifully written.
Will I do (Rated Mature) by NDN98 Oneshot. This is a No Good Deed Fanfic and I don't know what to say other than it's fierce and exactly what No Good Deed is.
What‘s left behind (Rated Teen and Up Audiences) by faemeabh
Oneshot.
Elphaba goes back to the cornfield to look for Fiyero‘s dead body but he‘s (obviously) gone, which is an answer to this prompt post I made and I am so so happy someone picked this up. It‘s hauntingly beautiful and a wonderful look into Elphaba‘s mindset after No Good Deed.
Absconding (Rated Teen and Up Audiences) by swaneewhistleandkazoo Oneshot. An insight into Fiyero‘s mind when he finally faces Elphaba again in the throne room scene.
The Wicked Witch of the West (Rated Mature) by NDN98 Oneshot. Elphaba during and shortly after No Good Deed. And guys, this is heart wrenchingly beautiful!!!! And honestly, I also want to add The Western Sky by the same author and so much more, so I'm leaving this here and tell you to check out all the other stories by NDN98!!!
In Progress Stories Same as before, I have some in-progress stories saved to check out, so I will add to this aswell.
Better of Pretending (Rated Teen and Up Audiences) by afoolsprophet Multi-Chapter. Fiyero asks Elphaba to pretend to be his girlfriend and you can guess how it's going from there. I just....it's so cute and I cannot wait until I can read this story as a whole!
Put me back in it (I would do it again) by Tiny-Librarian (Rated Mature) Multi Chapter Elphaba's spell in No Good Deed transports her back in time to when she just started Shiz and...well...go read it, it's going to be an amazing ride.

Still hating myself for not taking a note of every story I enjoyed because going back and finding them is a pain in the a**, but as before, I'm gonna add to this whenever there's something new I feel like needs a rec (also for preservation because I have surely learnt from my mistakes).
