Spider-Man. Spider-Man. Was all your best friend Izuku heard from you. Was it awful of him to regret saving you as Spider-Man? Yes. It hurt, hearing you rant about how he’s probably so cute, and that he’s so charming and mysterious.

What about him? Would you still say the same things about Spider-Man if you know it was him? Izuku Midoriya. Spider-Man. Two different parts of him, and just his luck, you chose to love his cooler version.

“Do you think I’m crazy to crush on him?”

That snapped him out of his thoughts. He swallowed, his stomach churning and starting to feel hate for Spider-Man.

“How would I fucking know?” He snapped, his glare faltering as he saw your hurt expression.

“I-“

“Forget it.” You snapped, standing up and gathering your stuff.

“Wait-“

You left, leaving his heart hurting.

He yanked his green curls, debating if he should go after you. “I’m so fucking stupid!”

And then to find out it was him all along, it was Izuku, the one you knew from middle school, The man behind the mask--the man you had fantasized about, talked so freely about how you had silly little crush, that you had become almost obsessed in a way.

It was him

and you weren't happy about it.

Not because it was the worst option of all, no. But after all this time, all the times you talk about Spider-Man in front of him nonstop, the sweetest thing you could say, the way just blush of talking of him, he never said anything about it. And that was a blow to you.

Maybe it was dramatic, but the feeling of being humiliated, embarrassed with all this time he could have said something.

You couldn't look him in the face

It hurt. It really did. After you started to avoid him. He regrets showing you who Spiderman was. He took off the mask in front of you, hoping for the best. Maybe you would magically fall in love with him? Yeah right. You ran away. Were you so disappointed in the man behind the mask.

He didn't know how wrong he was. Sure, it wasn't what you were expecting. It was just how embarrassed you were.

He couldn't find the opportunity to talk to you. Even if he stayed friends forever, nothing more, it was better then losing you.

He did his nightly rounds, feeling more and more depressed. Then he spotted you. Why were you out this late? You could get mugged. He decided to follow you, technically you were still friends, so surely he could follow you home and make sure you stayed safe.

As he watched, he noticed a man approaching from behind, not even trying to be slick.

He yanked your bag from you and took off, making Izuku see red. Without even trying, Izuku used his web shooter to yank the bag back, hopping off the rooftop he was watching you from, shoving the bag into your surprised arms, then started to beat the shit out of the thief.

"Iz-spiderman!" Hearing his name, managed to snap him out. He blinks, realizing how he practically assaulted a man.

"oh! Uh, um," Izuku flushes under the mask, feeling embarrassed but not really caring he beat a man, who is now looking worse for wear.

He sees your expression, and scratches the back of his head. "Um, I'm sorry..?" He says, not feeling sorry at all.

"you can not just do that!"

You were stunned, pointing at the poor guy that Izuk-- Spider-Man had clearly just crushed to the point of breaking his nose and maybe knocking out a few teeth.

"Are you out of your mind?" you exclaimed, pointing at the thief with both hands in an almost comical possession. Your emotions were running high because of how quickly the events happened.

"What were you thinking? H-he is bleeding!" you worried about the unlucky thief, moving a little closer to see if he could move--even though he tried to rob you, the violence was too much for your eyes, scolding the one who saved you.

Although you couldn't see the arachnid boy's expression, his body language clearly showed the embarrassment and indignation which his voice collaborated "Are you scolding me? When I--I defended you!"

You scoff, throwing your hands in the air. This point, neither of us paid any attention to the man on the ground. "But it was excessive violence! You could have--I don't know, thrown some web or something!" you mumbled in annoyance, waving your hands as your eyes glanced between him and the man. You watched as he denied profusely in irritation, touching the bridge of his nose.

"Excessive violence!? Defending yourself from a thief is excessive violence?!" He argued back, even though his point had some validity, but the anger was still simmering to resonate with you. "You know how crazy you sound right now?"

"Says the one who wears tight Spandex all over his body and goes to fight with people!" you defended as the two throw their hands in the air. And tooking a step back, you no longer are able to tolerate the ridiculous argument "You know what? Do whatever you want. You always do what you want, I don't care!"

“i gotta go babe.” another kiss to your lips.

“izu just.. please.” you crack your sleepy eyes open. “one more minute.” you reach up, cupping his cheek and bringing his lips back to yours.

“you just go back to bed and i’ll be home before you know it.” he chuckles against your lips.

“i miss you.” a soft whine.

“baby.” he cups your face. “i’m right here.” a kiss to your nose.

“stay.” you wrap your arms around his neck. “just skip class so you can keep kissing me.” you tangle your fingers into his hair, pulling his soft lips down to yours.

“i gotta go.” he mumbles. “gotta make money to keep up with your shopping addiction.” he detaches your arms, pressing a kiss to your forehead. “go back to sleep.” he tucks his pillow in tight next to you, checking your water and making sure your fan is on.

“zu.” you pout sleepily.

“if you wake up in time for my lunch you can come visit.” one last kiss to your lips before he leaves you buried in the sheets.
