Gordon watching as the supposed playboy billionaire Bruce Wayne does everything he can to comfort Dick Grayson, this little boy from the circus he’s never even met before, because he knows exactly the kind of pain he’s going through in this moment.

The New Addition to the Night Shift.

I usually leave a message in the tag section of an art post talking about how much I appreciate both the artist and the piece I’ve commissioned from them, but this time I didn’t really feel like that would get across just how much appreciation I actually have, especially with the character limit on tags.

Every time I get a piece done by them, I honestly can’t help but just sit there and be amazed by their skill and talent. To me, visual art is an incredible thing to experience, even from the perspective of someone who can’t create it themselves, but one of the things I enjoy most is seeing my own ideas and concepts realized into some kind of tangible form. That’s especially true when it’s done to such a high degree. People can say there are better artists, but I’ve never really agreed with that way of looking at art. Every artist has their own unique style and way of expressing themselves, and that’s what makes experiencing different kinds of art such a treat in the first place.

With every piece I get from them, it feels like their style and skill continue to grow. One of the things they capture perfectly every single time is personality. The expression, the pose, and the overall presentation always feel incredibly fitting, no matter how simple the piece itself may be. Their work ends up feeling believable and full of a certain presence that makes it feel less like you’re looking at an art piece and more like you’re looking at the character themselves.

but on the flip side I was thinking of redoing the fic and having him pick like... three random frickin heroes

Just some lowly heroes who volunteered and are the Best Options and in theory it should be easier because he doesn't know them that well and has very little emotional things at stake if they died or wtv

but somehow its just so much worse because of that

Because he knows the people he loves and they are willing and it hurts and these people are willing and he doesnt know them and that should make it easier- anonymity makes it easier for us to be cruel and needless with other peoples lives, right?

- Eridian scientists and doctors doing their best to help him when they first get to Erid. A few weeks in, he's in and out of consciousness but doing better, a doctor (in a xenosuit obviously) comes in to check on him, sees he's asleep, so goes to examine him closely, because, you know, alien. Grace, who was only dozing, jerks away so fast it gives poor Dr Limestone a heart attack.

Dick, shoving another Superman plushie inside the box:

Jason, cracking up, laying across Dick's couch:

Dick: I was nine. NINE!

Jason, laughing and unlocking his phone: Yeah, and you told Bruce he was your favorite.

Dick, twisting his lip and falling next to him: You think he does it out of spite?

Jason, staring at the ceiling:

Dick, tilting his head:

Both: Nah

Jason: He probably does it because everytime he sees one he thinks of you

Dick:

Dick, tearing up: Ok, why would you go and make me miss my dad?

Jason, grumbling and standing up FAR AWAY FROM THAT SOBBING MESS: Just tell him!

Dick, rolling his eyes and cleaning his tears: Right

Jason, freezing at the window:

Dick, moving his hands around: "Hey tati. You know how I said, once, AT NINE YEARS OLD, that supes was my favorite?"

Jason, frantically shaking his head and gesturing "cut it":

Dick: "Yeah, well. Turns out he stopped being my favorite that very same year."

Jason, sighing:

Dick: "My favorite is Batman. Then, now and forever will be Batman"

Jason, sliding a hand across his face: Oh. Oh, man...

Dick, turning around towards him: As if I could ever say that to Bru-... Hi Bruce.

Bruce:

Jason, covering his laugh:

Dick: ... How... Much did you hear?

Bruce, handlig him a new Superman collective:

Jason: ... :D

Bruce: I'll see if I can get you a Batman one
