The 13th annual international gender census, collecting information about the language we use to refer to ourselves and each other, is now open until 13th August 2026.

It’s short and easy, for most participants it takes 5 minutes or less.

After the survey is closed I’ll process the results and publish a spreadsheet of the data and a report summarising the main findings. Then anyone can use them for academic or business purposes, self-advocacy, tracking the popularity of language over time, and just feeling like we’re part of a huge and diverse community.

Hugo's charm is all fake. It's a front he plays with, but as soon as the feelings get real, he's a goddamn mess. His rizz drops down to zero and he's the hopeless one. Once they're a couple, their dynamic shifts, and Varian is the one being the romantic tease. He's the one that plans their dates, toys with his boyfriend, and enjoys getting Hugo flustered.

oppression is eased when you are white, as you get extra privileges, and your whiteness is seen as a positive characteristic that in some ways counter-balances your other forms of being a minority. whiteness controls everything.

you are automatically way more innocent in your own oppression as a gay, trans, disabled person because of your whiteness.

every three months he'll post and in the author's note there's some shit like "sorry this took a while, i got shot seven times :/" or "i know it's been a minute, i literally got hit by a bus and then stabbed in the leg, but i'm all good!" or sometimes ned would log in and post with a note "hey i'm a friend posting on the author's behalf, they're healing from severe hypothermia but promised an update, so here it is!"

and the fic just gets increasingly more popular for the author notes alone. a good handful of the comments are something along the lines of "i'm not even in the star wars fandom, i'm just here to see if the author is good" or "every update i cheer for another day the author gets to live at this point"

and any reader who is a native new yorker kind of pieces together that holy shit the author might be spider-man because the timeline adds up, and they just fully embrace it. spider-man will stop a robbery and the guy behind the counter will ask when the next chapter will be up. spider-man returns a stolen backpack to a girl and she'll tell him that he "really got poe's voice down so well, it's really impressive."

ned thinks it is hilarious. mj finds out about the fic from twitter, to peter's absolute horror, and changes peter's contact name to "friendly neighborhood ao3 author". but the worst thing to happen is after an avengers battle where peter took a pretty big hit and ends up in med-bay. and during a press conference, when someone asks how spider-man is healing, tony just drops "spidey won't be down for too long. the star wars fic will be updated within the week, probably."

No because actually why was Quirin ok with Fredrick not doing anything about (and keeping information from the public) about the rock. He's already seen one kingdom fall to the moonstone!!

I think at a certain point he should take matters into his own hands, either because he knows Frederick is going to bring Corona to ruin, or because he is trying to keep his son (who isn't going to stop his dangerous experiments on the rocks) as safe as he can

Just imagine Varian struggling with internalised homophobia. Just him putting every effort to prove that he isn’t evil gay problem-maker. Varian isn’t having any friends not only because he’s a nerd, but he’s a faggot. Him trying to prove his dad he’s a manly man and likes GIRLS. Because he does really likes girls, he likes Cassandra, Cass is someone who can prove he isn’t a loser nor gay. Because he can’t like both girls AND boys, bisexuality isn’t a thing, right? …right?

And the most important thing!!! Rapunzel just doesn’t know that something like that even exists! Not because she’s homophobic, but because she grew up in the tower and only thing she knows about love is from books. And it isn’t like books had a lot of representation, so she was just oblivious. Then she fell in love with a man, there wasn’t something she could think about. And I don’t think someone decided to talk with princess about something that considered gross and disgusting. So I think Rapunzel found out about lgbt only after tts by an accident or from Varian (and Hugo).

I feel like homophobia would vary from region to region. (Most kingdom laws vaguely reference "and they will be punished" so most towns and cities take that bit up for interpretation). At worst, execution, at best it's just a heavily taboo topic. My personal hc is that the Dark Kingdom is probably the most open due to its quarantine from the outside world and them not caring as long as you can protect the Moonstone
