next stop: duri is back and better than ever! this is a post in regards to the restructure and duri will be staying/revamped.

hello everyone, i wanted to hop on and make a post myself about duri’s revamp, as well as to see if anyone else was planning on the position, just so i don’t step on toes! as of right now, i’m planning duri to take the role of MAIN VOCALIST & LEAD DANCER of TITAN. i believe this is duri’s best fit (especially because i can only see him in titan after reading through other things.) i feel like this also makes sense with the things that he’s done, as with solo music, he has gone back and forth between ballads and dancey songs (however, i’m not entirely sure if solo music is in play here.) duri is also most likely to see an age change, either december 25th, 1993 or december 25th, 1994 -  if we’re able to make age changes, that is, just because i feel it would better to make him younger. this will also go into regards of things needing to change anyways, based off of debut timeframe (aka duri will no longer have gone to the military and we’re cutting out the middle man, saying he joined bc entertainment at 14 or 15 years old instead) he will also keep the face of choi minho of shinee, because that’s my baby and i’ve grown rather attached to duri being minho. duri will also be keeping his background, give or take a few different things, of course based on new age! nonetheless, i just wanted to make this post with updates and changes, as well as to make sure i’m not stepping on toes!

also just wanted to say that if you want to replot/work out any previous plots please let me know !! also if this was your plan for your muse, please me know as well because your boy is so #stressed and it definitely showed through the night that’s for sure.

unable to help the fondness sparking in his chest from how innocent duri sometimes could be, jinyoung just shakes his head with a defeated chuckle. it truly was a shame he was taken. “ah… this hyung,” he mutters under his breath with another chuckle before tilting his head back up while exhaling a dramatic sigh. “you’re welcome, hyung. any time.”

the cat in his lap stretched, exhaling a noise that almost sounded like it was laughing at his antics and jinyoung couldn’t help but raise a disapproving brow at the animal lounging comfortably in his lap. bopping its nose in retaliation to the noise, the singer smiles fondly at the way it twitches back and looks at him with wide, doe eyes, pretending to be the most innocent thing in the world. 

yeah, jinyoung was so taking this one home with him.

“makes sense. I just live all by me, myself and I right now. if I take this little one home with me I do wonder if I should adopt a second one to make sure it’s not lonely. cause I dodubt I’ll be getting myself a partner to look after this one any time soon.”

it was never entirely sure where the innocence really comes from or why so many things went over his head, but that was probably just the personality that he’s been blessed with. however, he may not be completely innocent with some of the songs that he’s written being on the sexier side, but, it was something that seemingly just occurred. he looked over again, nodding his head happily. 

his eyes looked towards the cat in jinyoung’s lap again, smiling a bit more at the stretch and a giggle seemingly leaving his lips at the noise the cat made. duri’s eyes went back to what he was doing - taking the bowls and placing them back in their spots. he did some quick cleanup as well, before going back to the station he was at. there, duri had simply cleaned up some more, making sure everything was organized again. his ears perked up when the other spoke again. 

hearing about his fear for clowns, the grin on her lips only widens in a mischievous manner. it was a sign that the knowledge would now be stored and used for future purpose. perhaps not today, or tomorrow, or any other time soon but given the next opportunity, yuzu could definitely make use of that one weakness. all in good fashion of course. 

the last she wanted was to genuinely upset the elder male. that’d just feel like kicking a giant puppy, no, no. 

“your adorableness makes you entertaining. yer like one of those people who just get lotsa screen time for their reactions cause they’re so genuine,” she agrees with a nod.

see, duri probably wouldn’t really be that scared of clowns or find them to be scary. but, he’s seen way too many horror movie posters with clowns on them and halloweens in itaewon made the whole clown thing worst. so, he really just stayed away from clown things, he didn’t like clowns at all. horror movies and clowns really aren’t his thing at all. most of time, he kept to watching animation movies and comedy movies, really - those were probably his favorites. but, you can find him watching a few superhero movies here and there.  

“because we stand on stage and people don’t like to look at us as regular people — then again, we live far different lives than the rest of the population.” taejin counters, leaving a shrug to the afterthought. years in a haze, running past the fingertip vision of the audience, only leaves him as the product. everyone else a bystander observer.

but right on cue, duri’s joke garners a laugh out of his thoughts, outward and back into the situation when he takes the complement a bit more than what’s given at face value. “thank you — but i’ve found myself talking to some of the younger bc kids, and telling them stories of my time when i was in their shoes. if that doesn’t scream old and stubborn, i don’t know what does.” defeat comes in waving a white flag, knowing that he can’t reclaim his age nor reverse the effects — instead, kim taejin chooses to relish in this moment. 

standing tall and straightening out his spine, he drops his arms to his side to turn a pointed look at duri. “do you usually volunteer even when you have busy schedules or just on free days?”

he nodded his head, “that’s true,” he started. “we’re normal people, with normal lives, but abnormal careers.” he responded. “we’re just like everyone else, right? we just happen to have a career that’s a lot different, that really puts us in the spotlight, and makes us public figures,” he says. the entertainment companies, television companies, and even brands probably saw them more as products, rather than normal people. but, duri still managed to have fun with it. 

he giggled softly, before he’d nodding his head. “growing up in the nineties was really interesting because a lot of the younger idols have no idea what i’m talking about and the things we did as children,” he says. “ah, are we really tis old? i guess so,” he says, laughing softly. truth be told, it took duri a while to get used to emojis, only using emoticons for a long while - that’s a bit embarrassing, to say the least. 

yena felt a sense of pride almost seeing how well duri took to her advice, paying genuine mind to it. nam yena wasn’t someone who was particularly well known for her sound advice or for being someone who people usually listened to if she gave suggestions so even about something as seemingly unimportant as fashion advice, she was glad that someone seem to actually value her words. it was a nice feeling, being listened to. “and you know how it goes, trends change.” she shrugged. “not saying you should follow all of them blindly straight away but by slowly adding trendy pieces out of your wardrobe you can keep your wardrobe up to date without having to replace it all at once!”

her smile brightened as he stepped out of the dressing room, immediately stepping closer to get a better look and to tug at the shirt in places, making sure it looked the best it possibly could. “ohhhh it’s nice, i like it.” she whisteled between her teeth, nodding her head in approval. “my eye for fashion really never misses… i’m a genius.” she reached up to pat gently against duri’s chest, right below his collarbone. “having a handsome model helps of course, very much so.” she complimented her friend. truly, she was very lucky duri was willing to get prodded at and try on 50 different items of clothing without getting tired of it. “most importantly though, how do you feel about it? does it feel comfortable?”

duri was always one to listen to advice, to be quite honest. especially when he had asked for the advice, which is something that he never really seems to do all that often. this time, however, he wanted the advice because he wasn’t entirely sure what items to add to his summer wardrobe. he was much better at shopping for the autumn and winter, but when it came to summer - he was never really sure what to put on. so, he decided to ask yena, considering she was always dressed to the nines. he nodded his head as he listened, “ah, it always feels like they’re ever-changing. especially more than they used to,” he says, giggling softly. he nodded his head, “i try to do my best! but, i think i’m a lot better with trends in autumn, winter, and spring... i’m not entirely sure what it is about summer?” he said, a shrug coming from muscular shoulders.

if anything, jaewon had to commend duri and maverick for how they had shaped their life in a way that allowed them to live out all their domestic dreams without the general public suspecting so much a thing about their relationship. of course, jaewon could hardly complain, he was incredibly happy with how he and soo had arranged things for themselves, wouldn’t want it any other way but something about duri and mav with their large home and handful of pets and what not just felt like the next level. “that makes sense, i’m glad your family takes to them well.” it was a good thing duri had a lot of family members so enarmoured by their pets, those were a lot of little furry friends that needed to be looked after, probably a bit much for one person to take on. “i’m glad your nieces and nephews like playing with them! and that the dogs lke it too, not every dog is a fan of kids.” he smiled. 

“of course you’re still older.” jaewon scoffed and for some reason, he almost felt like he was a teenager all over again. “you’ll always be older, that’s kinda how age works, that’s not fair.” it was always a weird contrast, jaewon was so used to being the older one or the leader that duri’s insistence to take the responsibility almost felt a bit foreign, a dynamic he had to get used to and that frankly, he only accepted with a elect few people. “good, i will make sure to show up to one of the seoul dates then.” a big promise but jaewon would see through on it one way or another, he would manage. “i don’t know-” he shrugged. “it’s not even like, the actual work load? like learning choreographies, recording songs, filming content, none of that is what’s burning me out. i just- don’t enjoy champion as a group. not their fault but it just… makes me uncomfortable? i like being with unity, i trust unity, i know what to expect but with champion it’s like… i still haven’t found my footing? i never know how to act or what to do or anything.” 

it had become rather easy for the two to really shape out a rather domestic life, something that the public, managers, or the public would have no idea about. the only people who actually really knew were those that were close to them and obviously, that was a secret that they would keep - as most probably would, considering the fact that they’re all idols just trying to have normal lives outside of work. it seemed that jaewon and samsoo really were able to shape their lives in the same way. simply, it was rather nice, until they’d be able to live publicly in a domestic way. “me too! it’s really nice. the dogs never have to be alone when we have to be away for a long while,” he said, giggling softly. “tteokbokki really likes people too, but she usually does her own thing, so she’s okay,” he said with a nod. “the dogs really like it when they get to come to the café too, and just walk around to look at all the people,” another giggle leaves his lips. “that’s true! i think we just got lucky.”

minjung lets out a loose laugh, airy and weightless when her eyes follow duri’s movements, opening up to her own photocard. “let’s say you won a trillion and one won, but the lottery ticket was yours to claim. what would you do with that money?” it’s a question she poses, floating the subject back to imaginary territories.

given her own circumstance, a trillion won into her own bank account doesn’t make a difference — she’d be lost regardless.

the thought nestles herself into a place of contemplative silence as she peers over to duri. “interesting — seems like the world inspires you.” minjung muses out loud, wondering if the sheen of duri’s optimism extended pass the afterhours of an idol. because in hindsight, she’d only ever know him as the happy optimist, kind and warm. infecting the ones around him. “what inspired this comeback?” curiosity gets the best of her when she leans closer, crossing her arms before picking up the bottle of water next to her. 

whatever duri’s optimism is, it’s contagious. has her curious to learn more.

“that’s easy!” he said, giggling softly. he already knew exactly what he was do with that money. “i would give it to my family members,” he explained. “then, i would donate the rest to different charities,” he said. “i already make enough, so i don’t really need all that money. i’m content with what i have and it wouldn’t do me any difference!” he explained with a nod. 

“how about you? what would you do if you won a trillion and one won?” he asked curiously. 

this was far from the first time that duri had shared his ideas of music with them, it’d been a thing as long as they had been together. though the idea of a collaboration had been mentioned as some sort of dream possibility, maverick almost never expected for there to be a chance for them to actually work on something to present to the company and then maybe even release together. especially so out of the blue. “that would be nice actually…” they smiled, thinking about the idea more.

the hardest part of being together sometimes felt like it was the fat that they were going to have to be a secret from the public for a long, long time to come still. all mav wanted to do was show people how in love they were. “ohh i don’t think that’d be a bad idea,” the mentioned as they took the pen before jotting down their own rough idea onto the page, a bit down so they weren’t immediately connected and it could easily be crossed out. “how do you feel about ‘i’m sorry, i’m sorry; even though i can’t go back to those times. you’re the only one, you’re the only one, you’re the only one’?”

the two of them were always sharing ideas with one another when it came to music. duri was always really excited to show maverick what he was working on, it was always just really nice to show them. plus, in some way, it always made him feel really good about his work when maverick would say something positive about the work. but, now, duri really wanted to work on a song with maverick, wanting to have a song with him. how could bc entertainment say no, right? but, he was sure it would more so have to be a fingers crossed type of situation, considering the fact the bc entertainment could be very unpredictable. he nodded excitingly, “it would be really nice!” he says, a giggle leaving his lips.

the two of them were good friends, going back to their trainee days and it was something bc entertainment had most definitely caught up on at this point, making sure to ocassionally pair them up for different schedules. it was nothing too overt, male/female friendships remained tricky territory after all but whenever not too obvious, bc liked to put them together for their good chemistry, minah would not complain about that. 

putting the last few things in place, making sure the categories didn’t overlap, minah took a step back to proudly look over their handiwork. “well, good, because i think that’s that for this. you good to move over to the kitchen to help there?” she smiled, brushing her hands together to dust them off. “promotions for my current album are still priority for now, though that is coming to an end soon too. i’ve got another musical lined up which is exciting and there is some very careful talk of releasing a single maybe in the winter time but i don’t have any actual confirmation on that yet, i’ll have to wait and see.” minah shrugged lightly. “oh a tour, fun! it’s been a while since lipstick has been on tour, i’d like to go on one again. i think the primadonna tour might just have been one of my absolute favorite things lipstick has done. is it another world tour for knight or what’s the plan?”

getting to do schedules with your good friends was always a bonus. sure, it could get a bit complicated because of the male/female friendship dynamic among the public would tend to lead to dating rumors. but, it seemed to be something that didn’t really happen to duri when he was around his friends that are presumed to be female. but, maybe duri just happened to be one of the lucky ones. plus, he talked about his friends pretty often and openly, so maybe that helped. 

it seemed at least duri was reasonable to not press the matter further, but siwoo did feel slightly bad about turning him down in such a way considering exercise seemed to be a way for duri to spend his pastime and have fun. siwoo on the other hand had never been fond of needless exercise, and something like that was a very negative addition to having to keep his body in shape to be able to keep up with singing and dancing for hours upon end sometimes. but maybe that was exactly why he preferred to keep it out of his private life.

siwoo had already taken out his phone to run a quick navigation search for some results, but he quickly looked up from the screen as the other answered favourably and with apparent knowledge on the matter. “oh really?!” he asked, obviously excited about the prospect of meat. “i don’t know this area myself that well, so i’m glad you do! always prefer personal recommendations over what i can read on the internet. man i haven’t eaten out in forever!” maybe it hadn’t been that long, but it certainly felt so with how busy he had been. “lead the way man.”

oddly enough, working out was something that duri actually enjoyed. which would probably be obvious with the muscle and being able to carrying dogs, after all. so, he always would enjoy those more physical activities in his free-time. however, most people weren’t actually like that, and sometimes duri almost forgets that not everyone enjoys bike riding.  however, the two had found something to do that was even better, so he was rather excited.
