you know having it slowly revealed over the course of season one that trinity was sexually abused as a preteen/teenager and that her friend and fellow victim died as well really helps me understand her behaviour.
Trinity is such a good person, maybe not the nicest but deeply good. She takes risks and works to make life better for others. Yet thereās this gap between who she is and who she shows others and some of those struggles kind of remind me of the way preteens and teens communicate. Sheās very internal, she has trouble figuring out when people are putting down a serious boundary, and she has trouble slowing down and listening to others.
Itās a good example to me of the way that childhood trauma doesnāt just fuck you up physically and emotionally it can affect the way you interact with the world. At the age where Trinity was supposed to be figuring out interpersonal communication she was trying to survived. And she made it out! Sheās a doctor now and she survived and yet thereās still that part of her who is a traumatized preteen/teenage girl who is struggling to interact with the world around her.
