Trinity is such a good person, maybe not the nicest but deeply good. She takes risks and works to make life better for others. Yet there’s this gap between who she is and who she shows others and some of those struggles kind of remind me of the way preteens and teens communicate. She’s very internal, she has trouble figuring out when people are putting down a serious boundary, and she has trouble slowing down and listening to others.

the whole kingdon endgame (usually) seems to be them married w mel pregnant… like frank doesn’t already have 2 kids and a dog? we know abby is the primary parent by far and i’m sorry but nothing in canon has me convinced frank is a super hands on dad

so what, mel goes from being becca’s carer to 3+ kids and a dog? like sure they’d share custody of the 2 oldest with abby but even one kid is a full time job when they’re small

she is a med student. rotations do not last more than a few weeks tops, so as much as you mightve liked her to still be in the ER full time, this isn't realistic at all four months after season 2. anyone with basic knowledge of the american medical school system would be aware she wouldn't still be there in real life, and the show tries to keep to realism as much as it can.

she would not still be in the ER as a med student. it would've been SO much easier for the writers to say "oh, javadi is on another rotation right now, she's not in s3 but will be back in s4 after graduation", and it also would've made sense to not see her. that's how it is.

INSTEAD, the writers went out of their way to write her with a storyline that will bring her back to the ER and still give her a role since they know how loved she is and like writing her. now, we'll get to know MORE about who javadi is and her passion for psych, AND we'll get a heavier presence of psych in the show as a whole because of it, which is a great thing too!

there is nothing logical to complain about here. the writers have made a decision to advance the storyline of, and keep in the main cast, a character and actress that we all like. be happy about that, narratively they could so easily not have done- insulting and attacking people who are trying to give you this interesting storyline for her rather than writing her off as would make sense for s3 is *insane*.

But… I was thinking.

Med student Trinity watching her best friend sink further and further. Med student Trinity not being able to save her best friend from the outcome of their shared trauma.

Med student Trinity having a patient with a similar case to what she experienced with her best friend and then being screamed at by a man with authority over her for saving that patient. A man with authority over her who is struggling with addiction. Then she has a child who is being abused by her patient. And she watches everyone report the parent trying to protect her instead of the parent abusing her.

Then the MCI and the new trauma of that.

Med student Trinity questioning once again if she’s good enough to save people. Finally finishing her intern year.

Then on the fourth day of her second year of being a doctor, that same man comes back. Has authority over her again. Is acting like he did nothing wrong — and the rest of the department is following suit, including the woman she’s started to develop feelings for. The new attending threatens her with repeating her year on her FOURTH DAY.

not saying it’s easy, but when has loving ever been easy? you can’t pour from an empty cup so take care of yourself too.

and a handful of the characters understand why, doesn’t mean it’s easy, once again.

baran, dana, abbot, santos, javadi, mckay— almost all of them. they extend empathy, concern, compassion, love while also being frustrated because there is only so much you can do to stop someone slowly speeding over a cliff.

none of the characters in this show are perfect either, so stop putting them in that lens and dragging robby for being on the same platform as them.

and as someone that’s going through a very rough time with my friends that similarly struggle like robby, it makes me fucking livid seeing people hate the fuck out of him, cancelling him out like the rest. what do you not understand? truly.
