If you have any graphic tees you like but wish they had a more feminine shape, you can easily (and temporarily, which might be important for you closeted girls) turn it into a fun crop top by taking some fabric from the bottom, gathering it in the back, tying a hair tie around it, and tucking/taping/tacking it up into the back, then tucking the now-tight part up under the looser fabric to create a rounded silhouette. You can also cut the neckline off to make it into a fun off-the-shoulder look, if that’s more your style (and you’re in a position to make more permanent alterations to your clothes).

Sometimes the pants you already have can pass as women’s pants if you just adjust how you wear them. This is easiest to pull off with jeans but can work with pretty much any pants that have enough room at the crotch. Literally all you do is put the waistband at your waist (right above your pelvis) instead of across your hips. That’s it. Putting the waist a little higher gives the illusion of a feminine cut of pants and you don’t need to actually adjust the waistband if you don’t want to, you just need a belt.

When you’re in a position to make more drastic changes to your wardrobe, either learn to sew or find someone who knows how to sew and make your longer clothes (pants, long-sleeved shirts, maxi skirts, etc) custom. Trying to find things that are both feminine and actually long enough to fit right at the store or the thrift shop or wherever you buy clothes is gonna be extremely difficult and make you feel like shit, but taking a length of cute, comfy fabric and sewing it into a circle skirt that’s exactly the length you need it to be is gonna be a breath of fresh air.

Cinching shirts at the waist and leaving the bottom loose can create the illusion of wider hips, especially if the bottom part is short enough to create a somewhat lifted and ruffled look. You can either sew the waist tighter or use belts/corsets/other exterior shape-wear to create this effect.

If you don’t want to/don’t have time to sew whole entire long-sleeved shirts/blouses, make a shrug instead and wear it either under or over your short-sleeved shirts for a fun layered look that still keeps your arms covered and warm.

It’s also relatively easy to cut up old pants and make them into a skirt! When I get home to my computer I’ll find links to tutorials and add them in a reblog.

it’s a slow morning so husband and I are reading, not making much noise. meanwhile, Barold goes downstairs to use his box and when he comes out, he starts yowling like his lil heart done broke. husband goes to to the top of the stairs all worried like, “Barold, what’s wrong?”

kitty zips back up the stairs and just oozes onto husband’s feet, purring high-powered lawnmower style. the realization hit us both at the same time…

this. boy. this itty bitty kitty boy. 

and I just wanted to update you that moments ago, this big orange infant found himself on the wrong side of a baby gate, could not hork his lorge butt over it, and so just started WAILING until everyone in the house came to rescue him. Me, my partner, the dog, our other cat… everyone came to be like, “Barold, what’s wrong?”

after this harrowing ordeal, he is now in my lap
