Lately, I've been trying to find themes for the first and second Doctor's, much like I have for Doctor's 4-7 (and possibly 8 - if you count my 90s version of "The Doctor Forever").

I thought the original Bad Wolf/Doctor's Theme from the 2005 series and 2006 album might work.

So, I made good use of the 60s instruments/sounds in my library to recreate that tune in the style of early 60's Doctor Who.

Even though it's too short to provide a montage of clips, as I have for all the other releases of this type, I thought I'd apply it to the very first scene of the Doctor way back in 1963. Then I tried fitting it to the scene of Ian and Barbara entering the TARDIS for the first time - and it still didn't work as well.

So I thought instead, I'd come up with a brief version of Doomsday in a 1960s style - to fit with the music that plays when Rose enters the TARDIS for the first time in 2005, and save the Bad Wolf theme for when the Susan talks about what the TARDIS is and the Doctor mentions where they come from - giving an air of mystery and intrigue - in line with the vibe of the track.

The Mellotron emulator I have had trouble with some of the high notes on the Doomsday track, so I used a conventional flute sound to accompany it - it's a bit too prominent for my liking but it does the job - which is precisely the kind of attitude those worked on the show at the time would have had!

In that spirit, the music is a bit louder than it should be - but that's because I wanted to emphasise the music - given that's the point of this video - but there are places where the dialogue is a little drowned out.

Unfortunately, I had to obscure the video for copyright purposes - but I hope it at least gives an idea of what it could have looked and sounded like - 61 years ago.

Wonder how many times someone accidentally stepped on poor Misha before he could crawl away?

Somewhere there is blooper footage of Misha misjudging the edge of the frame by about three centimetres and just slowly worming himself backwards.

Imagine filming one of these scenes and just hearing, from somewhere on the floor:
