Fan art of Bard the bowman (my fav)
Also special attention to this thrush that I am very proud of
^thanks!
I don’t know very much about historical archery to be honest, but I did watch a video by blumineck about a few different techniques as a reference.
Honestly I’m impressed that I managed to replicate it well enough that it’s recognisable. (I guess that’s the magic of using educational references rather than Pinterest)
“Trans men don’t make good music it’s all cringey ukulele indie pop” name a trans male musician who makes music like that other than cavetown
You know what? Name any trans male musician at all who isn’t cavetown
i dont want to derail from op's original point, but there have been a lot of wonderful reccs on this post, and i DO think we as a community need to do more to uplift trans men/transmasc musicians instead of stereotyping all transmasc musicians as "cringy". so, i sat down and went through every comment, tag, and reblog on this post (at least, all of the ones that are visible to me) and compiled a list, and i included some of my own favorites that i didnt see mentioned!
this list is not in any order, and i am not familiar with most of these artists, so an inclusion on this is not an endorsement of anything! if ive made a mistake anywhere, just let me know!
schmekel - transmasc jewish folk band (they seem to have deleted the majority of their music off most platforms, unsure why? but this link is to a playlist of re-uploads)

The Lazy Italian Girl (1757) by Jean Baptiste Greuze
god, you take a five minute break and some asshole paints a picture
I bet Jean Baptiste wasn't helping with the washing up or doing the laundry

In the spirit of encouraging people to comment on fanfics while also making it easier to do so, I feel obliged to share a browser extension for ao3 that has quite literally revolutionized the comment game for me.
I present to you: the floating ao3 comment box!
From what I've seen, a big problem for many people is that once you reach the comments at the bottom of a fic, your memory of it miraculously disappears. Anything you wanted to say is stuck ten paragraphs ago, and you barely remember what you thought while reading. This fixes that!
I'll give a little explanation on the features and how it works, but if you want to skip all that, here's the link.
Edit: Yes, this also works on mobile!
The extension is visible as a small blue box in the upper left corner.
(Side note: The green colouring is not from the extension, that's me.)
If you click on it, you open a comment box window at the bottom of your screen but not at the bottom of the fic. I opened my own fic for demonstrative purposes.
The website also gives explanations on how exactly it functions, but I'll summarize regardless.
insert selection -> if you highlight a sentence in the fic it will be added in italics to the comment box
add to comment box -> once you're done writing your comment, you click this button and the entire thing will automatically copied to the ao3 comment box
delete -> self explanatory
on mulitchapter fics, you will be given the option to either add the comment to just the current chapter or the entire fic
The best part? You can simply close the window the same way you opened it and your progress will automatically be saved. So you can open it, comment on a paragraph, and then close it and keep reading without having the box in your face.
Comments are what keep writers going, and as both a writer and a reader, I think it's such an easy way of showing support and enthusiasm.

I love that Jamie’s signature move seems to be clinging onto random people. (He’s pretty much only just met each of these individuals)
Everytime Jamie asks the Doctor if he can control the tardis something seems to go wrong
Bard escaping the water of Lake town

I think part of what I like about The Evil of the Daleks is that David Whitaker gives the Daleks several traits that imply that they're something far weirder than had been presented in the show up till then.
To begin with, ever since The Dalek Invasion of Earth Terry Nation had been moving the Daleks away from being static powered, but in both The Power of the Daleks and this story David Whitaker brings it back and actually implies that there's something more there. When Maxtible and Waterfield are telling the Doctor about their experiments in time travel they mention meddling in static electricity, and the Doctor immediately gets a bit on edge.
And has a growing sense of alarm as the conversation continues.
Later in the scene it's revealed that Maxtible and Waterfield's static experiments summoned a Dalek in a way that implies that there's some kind of deeper connection between Daleks and static than simply being static powered, almost as if the Daleks are some kind of attribute of static itself, or at the very least if you meddle with it you risk summoning them.
And going even further than that, the story shows that there's something fundamental to Daleks that's opposed to human virtues. The Doctor is able to condense all the positive parts of human nature into a physical form he deems The Human Factor (which is an amazing concept in and of itself), and from that the Daleks are able to define themselves against it and manifest their own Dalek Factor, i.e., everything opposed to those traits.
You could go as far to say that there's something almost demonic about the Daleks in this story, with them possessing control over alchemy, science, and even fundamental natural forces, by being able to define themselves by their opposition to human virtues, and being able to be summoned by a something that sounds far more like a magic ritual (144 mirrors arranged a certain way with static electricity running through them?) than a scientific invention. A large part of the plot is even started by how the Daleks struck a Faustian bargain with Maxtible to sell out the human race in exchange for hidden knowledge. They can also, for a certain definition of it, be said to possess people in this story, with the Dalek Factor literally corrupting the nature of anything it comes into contact with into that of a Dalek.
I think that part of what makes this serial so great is that its trying to present the universe as having a deeper, more mystical bent to it, and its probably one of the earliest Doctor Who stories to try and do that. And it also shows the Daleks as being something grander than simply alien invaders, it creates a far greater scope for them that implies a cosmic element to them that I wish had been followed up on.
here have transmasc bard because I think killing a dragon is just what a man does on his period honestly
Absolutely hilarious honestly.
He’s dragging himself out of the river after killing Smaug, absolutely dreading the idea of having to find dry clothes and cloth padding for the bleeding.
And now everyone is declaring him king.
#the real reason the elves and men became such close allies was because the elves brought lots of wine and pain-easing herbs
I LOVE THIS TAG YOU LEFT SO I DREW IT!
fastest friendship in the north: the elvenking fixed his cramps so bard was like aight I guess we're on the same side now
ASVGHBVVGGHHGFS!!!!
Omfg this is absolutely amazing! I’m so honoured that my little addition made it into comic form!
Thranduil being able to smell Bard’s bleeding is hilarious. The elf does not realise how wildly invasive it is to comment on such things.
Also Bard’s reaction is so valid cause period blood does not smell good.
Btw thank you so much for feeding my Bard obsession! I semi-regularly scroll through your blog to see all the wonderful art of my favourite character. Your comics are so funny (truly doing the lords work)
I’ve just finished reading The Hobbit for the first time and I’m planning on drawing fanart of some of the different characters
starting with Bilbo Baggins:

Okay, so usually when you look up the cast of a movie, the photos will either show candid pictures of the actors or photos of them in their role in the film.
^why is Kathleen Byron pictured as her role in a completely different film?(Black Narcissus)
For further context, here is what she actually looked like in ‘a matter of life and death’:
An angel, not a slightly unhinged nun.
India's carbondioxide emissions per person is half the global average, while USA's is 7× to 8× times higher than India, 3.5× to 4× times the global average, yet USAmericans are the ones comfortably sitting with air conditioners in their office jobs while Indians die in heatwaves in outside manual labor jobs
And even then its the Indians who contribute the least who are the most vulnerable, it's not the Indians who own shares in oil companies being inconvenienced, it is the workers who work in farms under the sun, those who work in physical construction, outside in manual labor, the regular families who can't afford to move somewhere where there aren't regular blackouts. It's simply not fair, you understand
