The descent into the devastating and inescapable logic of “Why We Build the Wall” throughout the song will never not haunt me.

Why do we build the wall? We build the wall to keep us free. How does the wall keep us free? The wall keeps out the enemy. What do we call the enemy? The enemy is poverty. What do we have that they should want? We have a wall to work upon.

Like the show itself, the logic of the wall is cyclical, so it’s inescapable. The wall is literal. The wall is figurative. We create the wall ourselves when we value profit over life. And at the end of the day, after all that work, and all of that time spent disparaging the “have nots,” the only thing you have left is the very wall you are building, separating you from your fellow man.

So there was a time Hordak was racing as fast as he physically could towards Entrapta and got a couple hundred feet away before she was ripped away again. He got so close. And he was pushing through physical pain to make it. Maybe, just maybe, he was forcing himself forward a bit harder than the rest of them, some small, subconscious part of his heart telling him to.

Thought of this while listening to ‘Wait for Me’ from Hadestown London version (Dónal Finn). Go ahead and listen to it thinking of that, it only hurts a lot. Pure yearning.

Except it has a happy ending, because in this case our Orpheus was MEANT to love her Eurydice to the point of looking back, and that is exactly what she did

Is there any indication that people would think it's aliens? No. Do alien abductions in the media resemble depictions of the rapture at all? Get lost. Showing ATLA to my kid brothers (let's call them Woozy and Spinny). We're 8 episodes in and so far the consensuses are:

Aang: Realistic portrayal of a 12-year-old, trying to rizz up every girl he comes across - Woozy. Spinny has not shared an outright opinion but he likes to mention Aang's shenanigans and generally pays attention when he's on screen so I think that's an Aang win.

Katara: *quiet shrug and refusal to comment from Woozy* "she's fine :)" from Spinny. As a Katara girlie I am a little devastated but hopeful that she will grow in their hearts. Upon rewatch I discovered a moment where Katara clings to Sokka's boomerang like a teddy bear and almost cried

Sokka: pretty cool (Sokka does garner most of the laughs from both)

Zuko: "he seems like a chill dude :)" - Woozy. Spinny thinks he is kind of rude, but really liked when Sokka clocked him with a boomerang early on

Iroh: the favorite from both of them

Commander Zhao: Spinny proclaims him "even more rude than Zuko". I refer to him as "Commander Chud," so Woozy is now insisting he is, in fact, Commander Chad

Spinny is also a big Momo fan, he likes that Momo looks "like both a monkey and a bat"

From all we've seen of Ozai (exactly one vision), Spinny has decided that he looks "pretty intimidating"

Spinny has begun to successfully predict when pacifism will win, at one point Roku's dragon showed up and Spinny was like "I bet he's friendly :)" and I'm very proud of him

Woozy started the show saying "it's okay it's mid" and now every time we finish an episode he begs to watch another

I don’t know where Evangelicals are getting the “We are so unworthy of Gods love. It’s so hard to love us” narrative but hear me when I say:

Whether you are Christian, Atheist, Pagan, or something else entirely. Whether you read the Bible every night or you curse out God every night. Whether you think you are a good person or not.

God finds it easy to love you. It is never a challenge. He didn’t create you because it’s a chore but because he wanted your soul to leave its lasting mark on the world. A God doesn’t find it difficult to love you because he MADE you easy to love. You are beautifully and wonderfully made.

THAT is scripture. THAT is a God of unending love.

Grace sends this off as a "fuck you" to Stratt and unintentionally eases 40+ years of horrific guilt.

(40+ factoring in the Hail Mary mission, then the time it would take to get back to Erid and the time it would take for the message to get to Earth. Probably closer to 50+ actually).

(I do think Stratt felt bad. She did a lot of terrible things to save the planet, and obviously felt guilt for sending Grace off. I imagine the time waiting to hear back from the Hail Mary was torture for everyone, but she essentially sent three people off to their deaths, one unwillingly. Hearing that Grace made it out alive would be a huge weight off her shoulders.)
