However there is some reaaaal racist bullshit going on in the advertisement for The Odyssey cause Himesh Patel, who you can tell is quickly becoming one of Nolan's core guys, is barely mentioned in any of the puff pieces or advertisements for the film. So colour my shock why I discover hes in way more of the film that almost all of the rest of the cast.

Gonna see it again before I really engage with it but first viewing, The Odyssey fucking rips. Such a terrific focus on the corruption of xenia (even if the original tale did not extend that right to the trojans). Thematically a sequel to Oppenheimer in how much it is about a man lamenting in his fears that he may have destroyed the world by his actions. The conceptual invocation of one of histories greatest mysterious boogeymen in this regard had me levetating. Damon getting his Oscar for sure but Zendaya as Athena quietly floored me. Taking a historical classic and repurposing it for meaning in the modern world is a great choice.
