Like don’t get me wrong I agree with those posts that say high schools should teach other skills and life knowledge but

DON’T. GET.RID. OF. ALGEBRA!!!!

Y’all seriously DO use it, but your brain recognizes it differently or uses another (for the lack of a better word...) brainy method to solve your problem, but it’s algebra!

Y’all won’t even believe me that you’ve MOST likely been exposed to algebra before you started walking! EX. recognizing shapes (triangle, square, circle....)

You want to find out how much that item will be with 35% discount? You USE algebra.

You’re waiting for a sale to get that one item you really want? But you want it to drop down to a certain price? You USE algebra to find out the % discount so you’ll be ready when they announce it.

When grocery shopping, you want an item and find two different quantities with two different prices, and you try to find out which one is worth your money more by using ALGEBRA.

You want to find out if a short term or long term payment is good for you and your salary depending on the interest rate??? ALGEBRA

Compounding interest rates? Which payment plan is better for you or which one do you prefer??? The one that saves you money short term or long term??? How would you know the difference??? YOU USE ALGEBRA.

Fixed rate or variable on a house mortgage??? “Pffftttt what’s the difference?! I’m getting a house!” Only to later find that instead of paying $1000 as you always expected to you’re now going to have to pay $1800, but why????? ALGEBRA TERMS ARE ALSO IMPORTANT.
