AIO - My best friend spending time with my ex
Hi everybody! I feel like I’m losing my mind here.
My friend of over ten years and I have been through thick and thin together. My ex has made my life a living hell for the last 6, and we have two kids together. She was there through all of it and knew about all of the messed up stuff he did. In an odd turn of events he started working at the same place she did - she’d been there for a few years before he started.
I’ve tried to have her come visit the kids and I a few times and plans kept falling through, but she sends me a message that he invited her over to visit the kids with him (he has them on the weekends). She goes the next day and sends me pics of her with them. She says she felt like it was a good thing since I trust her with the kids and he’s sort of a psycho, so at least it’s a normal person around them. But I have some SERIOUSLY conflicting feelings about this. I know they’re coworkers, and I know he can be a charming person when he wants to be, but she also saw first-hand the kind of things he AND his family put me through.
So, what do you think? Am I overreacting about this?
Reddit consensus: NOT OVERREACTING (NOR) (100% confidence)
Top comment: “NOR. Be prepared for the other shoe. They'll be hooking up soon. Hopefully she breaks it to you gently.”
Notable comment: “NOR. Sounds like they’re together…”
