I’m not trying to devalue anyone who enjoys Bloodymary, I really do enjoy the dynamic (when people aren’t babying Simon to be some wet puppy and aren’t making Grace some ‘innocent ball of sunshine’), it just feels kinda disingenuous to Mark’s work for the only thing to find online is… a ship. I feel we have lost the value of the movie as a whole as it’s a story about sacrifice, and it feels like it was sent to the chopping block as an accessory to an already successful book and movie by a successful studio and actor.

Not only is there oriented AroAce, in which they also have a separate orientation, like gay or lesbian or bisexual or any of the other various sexualities, but AroAce is also just a spectrum as a whole.

I'm Aro because I have a difficulty differentiating my romantic and platonic feelings due to nuerodivergence.

I'm Ace because I have sexual trauma that has led to me being very sex aversed and even before it, I was very sex neutral.

Qpr stands for Queer Platonic Relationship which is often a type of relationship Ace, Aro, or AroAce people seek out as a form of relationship that breaks the societal standards of Romantic relationships as well as Platonic ones. And each QPR is different as it looks however the people participating in it want it to look.

I'm seeing a lot going around about people not liking how violent Simon is being portrayed.

And I do get that, but I don't think there's enough balance to who he is. We see him get angry, but only when provoked. He gets mad and wants to be heard, but when he finds out he's caused someone to be hit with radiation from his camera, he immediately flips, because he's just human and trying to be heard.

I can understand him being distrustful after all of that. Having to live with the trauma and the PTSD of not only the Blood Ocean, the Eel, the Iorn Lung, but the Distrust he might have with humans because of the COI and Eden. I get that he can be violent when first approached from what he thought was his death. Violent after waking up from a nightmare. But I more understand him trembling awake, sobbing and curling in on himself. Him standing to the side and staring blankly if Grace got angry and started throwing things, half because he knows Grace won't hurt him and half because he doesn't really know what to do even if Grace did.

I think he's a solider and a man. And all reactions are plausible and possible. I for one, would love to see more balance.

Simon can be violent, but don't make him only violent.

Make him eerily calm in terrible situations. Make him cower in a corner and only flinch away at a touch. Make him awkward and not know what to do, not know what line to cross.

Grace dancing around the kitchen or the lab to Sabrina Carpenter and the Beetles and Simon just.. watching.

Simon fighting tooth and nail to learn to play the guitar with one hand (it’s possible). Grace cries when Simon plays a full song for him.

Simon is very slow to pick up on Eridian language, but Ryland is a very patient teacher.

Erid’s ammonia atmosphere isn’t the best for stargazing, but the skies are no worse than Earth’s with their light pollution problem. Grace once turned off the biodome’s sky projector to let Simon stargaze, and it’s become a nightly ritual

Grace will sometimes wake up in the middle of the night without Simon and find him outside, staring at the Eridian skyline, reminding himself it’s real.

Rocky is very excited upon Simon’s arrival because Grace will have someone to watch him sleep when Rocky is with Adrian

I think a lot of people missed the fact there were PLANTS on the Hail Mary. Imagine Simon and Grace planting those in the biodome together.

Speaking of PLANTS, imagine Simon caring for a garden. He’s read every book in the Hail Mary about the topic. He spends at least two hours tending to the garden every day. Ryland finds himself giving up his fog often so that the plants can have proper sunlight. The fresh veggies are totally worth it.

One day Grace gets a call from Earth about a strange occurrence there. It’s Eva and Ava. Simon walks in casually while brushing his teeth and just.. freezes.
