Like from all the vids I've seen he seems to be behaving normally but at the same time wild animals mask any symptoms of pain or injury since they would be easy targets for predators so they could be in horrible agony and you wouldn't know from just looking.

I just hope this "wholesome" meme everyone's having a good laugh over isn't actually horribly and ignorantly cruel 😭

I did some research on him when he first showed up!

short spine syndrome is known in dogs and it does not seem to cause extreme pain, nor does it shorten an animal's life- but it does present mobility issues and probably causes some postural pain. overall it's more of a static functional disability than a painful deteriorating condition, at least as far as we can tell.

And I wanted to draw some Dateables in the games artstyle as practice.

And do your goddamn research if you’re a tourist. No, it’s not safe. It’s hot, polluted, and infested. You can boat on it. You can take a canoe or kayak or airboat over it. Just don’t swim in it. (And fwiw they can tip canoes and kayaks too)

Do not swim in retention ponds. Do not swim in any river anywhere that isn’t a designated swimming spot by someone of authority like a park ranger. Even in our natural springs, stay vigilant.

I want to see characters with insulin pumps. Characters who do shots. Characters who have sensors. Characters who test their blood sugar manually.

I want to see characters dosing before a meal or snack. I want to see characters checking their blood sugar. I want to see characters deal with high or low blood sugar.

I want to see characters with type one diabetes in a variety of settings. The diabetic ruler or monarch. The diabetic detective. The diabetic magician or mage. The diabetic spaceship pilot.

There needs to be more Type 1 Diabetes representation in media.
