They're from the concept album of Warriors's musical adaptation written by Eisa Davis and Lin Manuel Miranda(yes, the dude who wrote Hamilton, Moana, Encanto etc). It's based on an old movie from the 70's about a gang that gets wrongly accused of someone's murder, but instead of being about men with a token girl that gets to be the male protag's trophy, LMM had the idea to genderbend the protags but NOT the love interest, so the romantic subplot with Swan and Mercy is gay now 😁

The stageplay on broadway will release next year and i dont think they've confirmed the cast yet, but the ladies you see playing Swan and Mercy in the concept album are Jasmine Cephas Jones and Julia Harriman respectively. Jasmine was also in Hamilton as the original Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds, while Julia played Eliza Schuyler at some point too.

Swercy commission

Although Mercy's pissed off about Ajax being like that, I still like to think the actual reason the rest of the gang silently agreed not to address this random girl who tagged along was because Swan had not yet sorted out if she liked her or not.

I mean, come on, some strange girl she doesn't know is there, a drain on resources and time while they're tryna get home? And Swan isn't that trusting at the best of times. She's not addressing a question she kinda doesn't know about yet.

Either 1) Mercy immediately caught onto who is the leader of the group, showing just how smart she is. Honestly, the whole scene is a display on her intelligence. She turns it around on the Warriors and basically does what THEY tried to do, only successfully. She goads Swan into telling the Orphans no by flirting with her (and thus ruining their ruse), all while mocking the Orphans in the process.

- picks fights with every person she cross paths with... for fun, I guess?

- follows strangers home until they eventually take her in (after picking a fight with them, mind you)

- "d'you think I bite or somethin'" when the movie version has bitten someone. Plus, she totally is the person to fight dirty by biting and clawing at her opponents like a feral animal

- clingy
