The beginning of the story is like D1 with all the characters staying on the isle. It’s cold, dirty, and is just an awful place to be. Honestly D1 goes as the original plot. Ben feels bad for the VKs, they come to Auradon, shenanigans happen blah blah blah. Honestly one thing I wanted to change her is when Mal makes Ben fall in love with her by spelling him. But here, Mar manipulates Ben into thinking that Adeline doesn’t actually love him and how she’s just using him for the throne. Using the isle as a way to manipulate him further, telling him about all the shit they had to go through there. Of course Mar has a change of heart at the end and actually apologizes to both Ben and Adeline for everything she’s done (Mal owning up to her mistakes? Unbelievable). That’s the only thing I would want to change in the first movie

The second one has more changes in it than the last one. Instead of 6 months going by since the first one, it’s been 2 years since they became good. They were forbidden by Adam from going back to the isle or else they would be left there again. Mar is now 18 here along with Jahid. Mar is very stressed out from all of her duties as a princess, and is more aggravated than normal. She starts to have an identity crisis and contemplates about going back to the isle, even when it’s forbidden. Mar is able to sneak out and head to the isle with her spell book. When Mar arrives to the Isle, she remembers how bad it used to be. Auradon had spoiled her too much, and now she regrets leaving the children here. Mar decides to stay in the Isle cause she truly believes she is a villain. She gets rid of her long blondish purple hair and turns it into a medium wolf cut. That’s all I have for D2 cause most of the plot later stays the same except Mar actually feels sympathy for the other kids.

D3 is my main focus honestly. This also takes place a couple of months after the second, with Adam reluctantly agreeing to let a few children out of the Isle every few weeks. Of course on their way back from the Isle, Hades attempts to break out of the barrier, causing fear within Auradon. Here’s where things start to change. Instead of Mal making the decision to close the border, it was Adam. He states that they can’t have another incident like that happen again. Mar of course is very angry, since this has been an ongoing project for months, and she has to let everyone in the Isle suffer forever all because of one person. Mar tries to fight against this but the decision is final. Ben doesn’t say anything because of what happened with Uma and her crew. This angers Mar even more since it was Ben’s idea to let them stay in Auradon, and now he’s backing out of his word? This, along with the built up stress, pushes Mar to her breaking point and she decides that she’ll open the barrier herself, while taking Auradon down with it. Her heart slowly corrupts as she begins to hate Auradon more and more. The place where the rulers left her and everyone she loved to rot, the place where they won’t even consider giving children a chance, the place that decided that those people deserved to suffer forever. Mar breaks into the museum and grabs her mothers septour (or however you spell it) and vows to finish her mothers work.

something I wish was explored more(Canon and in fan works) is how Jay was raised to like serve and even when he's taught to put himself first he always puts others first, he's always protecting the core four and I wish there was more on how he struggles in auradon, hes spent 16 years of his life serving others and putting them before himself and being a weapon and shield, that whats his use in auradon?

If I remember correctly I also believe there was a Canon fact that Jay was really good at acting, so he could always hide how he felt.

Jay not knowing what to do with himself bc he's never thought ab what he wanted, just what others did, always wanting to make himself using because whats the point of him if not.

This is Jay. He is the son of Jafar, which made me question how he isn't part genie in any sense. In my reimagining, gods and genies and their children must have restraints to suppress their powers because the barrier struggles to do so. There are exceptions, though.

The golden cuffs are his restraints.

Since Jafar is stuck in the lamp, he can grant wishes, but they are minimalistic and limited since genies are broken. Thus, the barrier couldn't close off his entire powers. Jay's mother was a devoted worshiper to Jafar, who wished to be pregnant. Jafar did so, embuding little of his essence, which created Jay. Jay's mother passed away during birth, so Jafar tried to raise Jay.

When out of the barrier, Jay has some powers back, but the restraints still suppress his full powers. He can only fly and cast one simple wish that doesn't consume his energy a day. E.g. Piece of clothing, fruits, make-up, a couple of bucks.

I tried to convey tired eyes but failed. I wanted to show how horrible his life is in the Isle. He isn't treated horribly like other children. Just his father is disappointed Jay didn't turn out to be a serious master manipulator like intended and barely acknowledges him.

When attending Aurodon University (Gonna change that name), Jay acts selfish and doesn't consider the rest of the team to steal the wand so he can win his father's praise. Jay is the leader of the operation because Jafar, the master manipulator and usurper, is the one who encourages the VKs to steal the wand and gives them notes how to steal it successfully because he feels like they would fail without guidance.

Like in the movies, Jay learns to be a team player, a better leader to the VKs, and a better older brother to everybody.

In the book, it was Evie that had the spellbook, not Mal. We were robbed, robbed I say!
